DEVELOPING: Sources familiar with events surrounding the shooting tell @CBSMiami that when Coral Springs police arrived within minutes of the shooting call, they found not only the BSO School Resource Officer outside the school taking up a defensive position but at least three other @browardsheriff deputies who were waiting outside the school. The Coral Springs officers were told by BSO officers on the scene to wait, but the Coral Springs officers blew past them and immediately entered the building.
These events were first reported by @CNN. A spokeswoman for @browardsheriff and @ScottJIsrael confirms they are investigating if BSO deputies waited while kids were dying. Sheriff Israel earlier tried to dismiss these questions by saying when Coral Springs went in the shooter had already fled. But as one senior law enforcement source told me, at the time BSO was waiting outside they had no idea if the shooter was still inside. They needed to act and they didn’t

You are new to this. Totality of the circumstance matters greatly. If it was a hostage situation, you might have a point. But when the murders are ongoing and not stopping, the liability flows the other way.

And a lawsuit isn’t that big of a deal for the cop. In all but the most insane cases like the cop shooting that unarmed dude in the back as he ran away, the city pays the judgement, not the cop.
So who on that force of do nothing cops are you related too? The hiring of cowards in that political sheriffs office needs to be audited. Normal sane people will rush in when helpless kids lives are being extinguished. I am talking untrained most people fight/flight response when kids are at risk is fight. That’s why we are on top of the food chain.
These sheriffs officers stood around waiting. That is very odd. Nationally training for all law enforcement is go in immediately. First on scene is first in the door Learned that years ago and it’s SOP EVERYWHERE!

That's exactly the case. The shooter was allowed to fester in the school system, finally being expelled. There was no connection between him and law enforcement while in school.

He most likely would not have been watching his back, since he was insanely trying to kill his fellow students, and all this BS about “going up against an AR-15 with only a handgun” is simply nonsense.

As a kid in college in the 1960’s I worked in a peach cannery two summers. We had an USDA guy there “monitoring diversion.” Which meant, in order to keep the price of peaches up, by law, we had to throw away tons of good fruit.
