Full title:
Trump calls campus deputy who hid from school gunman a 'coward' and says: 'He certainly did a poor job'
'So he certainly did a poor job,' Trump repeated. 'But that's a case where, somebody who was outside, they're trained, they didn't react properly under pressure or they were a coward. It was a real shot to the police department.'

Well, that guy will be labelled for life...
This can just be added to the ever growing list of police failures that led to this kid succeeding.
This particular shooting is not about guns at all. It’s not even about mental illness. It’s about a complete and utter failure of law enforcement at multiple levels, to the cop at the school all the way up to the FBI.
It’s shameful. It’s also a sort of black comedy in that so many on the left are talking about guns this time. Their hatred of guns is preventing them from even being able to discuss solutions that could have prevented this.
I bet Trump never used the work “Coward”. The media lies, lies, lies and then lies some more.
There are those who go to the sound of the gun fire and those who run from it. Evidently he was the latter. Wrong guy for the job.
As he should be.
Don’t put on badge if you are not prepared to run TO the sound of gunfire.
Can’t expect a guy to put his life on the line a few days before he retires < /sarc>
I have difficulty labeling this person in this fashion. I understand why it is being done, because it was his job. He SHOULD have done it.
But our own military history is full of people who froze up in combat and couldn’t function. Sometimes they got a second chance, and were able to do their job and it turned out to not be a long term issue.
Sometimes they didn’t, and that was it for them.
I have never been shot at. I hope that if that time ever comes and I am called on to do something...I can do it. I hope I can.
Correct, this is purely a law enforcement failure, from the FBI down to the Sheriff and his deputies.
I wonder if he went his whole career and never had to do it.
Well, he is branded now, for sure.
Maybe the President knows more than I do about the cop, but it seems premature to label him a “coward”. The hero in him might simply have been trained away, for example, due to poor local police policies set in place.
That dirty little coward who didn’t shoot Mr. Cruz... Aw. It doesn’t rhyme. Unlike in “Jesse James.”
Don’t be too hard on the fellow. As part of an elite police, he’s got a whole cowardly system behind him. Why do we see brutality and fecklessness by turns? That’s why.
“they didn’t react properly under pressure or they were a coward”
The headline lies. He said one or the other. It’s hard to argue that the statement Trump made is untrue.
A big burly type of guy calls in to our local radio station and scolds us listeners: “You don’t know what you would do in the same situation so people should stop mocking this guy”.
Go to hell.
He’s a coward, a nothing-burger, a waste of money, he will go straight to hell on his last breath, he is a zero, he is a bigger problem with stopping killers than taking away the gun of me, a widow woman with a small gun for safety.
And no, maybe I wouldn’t know how I’d react under the same circumstances but what’s the point?
IF...just sayin’....IF I had huddled in a corner of the building while young children inside were being systematically murdered....I would be....
.... a coward, a nothing-burger, a waste of money, I would go straight to hell on my last breath, I would be a zero, is a bigger problem with stopping killers than taking away the gun of me, a widow woman with a small gun for safety.....
You do something like this, you will be mocked and degraded the rest of your life and this fakey love stuff is so very wrong.
I agree too, and Donald has something to learn yet about shooting from the hip.
Don’t forget the school administrators.
The Broward Coward
Suppose he’d shot Cruz AND somebody else.
Amen!
As usual, he said words that sorta match what they said, but there were more that added context to his message. A well thought out response is what it appeared to be, but, what possibly could have occurred. He did not know the possible extenuating circumstances, and said so...
