This strikes me as really pushing for any excuse to attack Trump for any reason whatsoever. CNN has a whole story devoted to shaming Trump for calling the Parkland shooter a “sicko” on the grounds that it’s stigmatizing to people with mental health problems who aren’t all mass shooters of children. In a tweet Thursday, President Donald Trump described someone who would shoot up a school as a “savage sicko.” At CNN’s town hall on the Parkland, Florida, school shootings on Wednesday, NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch described the gunman as “an insane monster” who is “nuts” and crazy.” And at a White House briefing Thursday, the President again used the term “sicko.”
The shooter, Nikolas Cruz, struggled with depression, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism, according to a 2016 Florida Department of Children and Families report. But having a mental health diagnosis does not mean he would become violent, many experts say. And although Trump has said he wants to focus on mental health to stop school shootings, calling Cruz a “sicko” doesn’t help, those experts claim…

Destroying the ability to point out wrong behavior and the ability to criticize that behavior, is the goal for this step in the plan. It’s the left’s oldest friend, the Man Of Straw. Neither President Trump nor anyone else has said that every person with mental health problems is a “savage sicko”. “Savage sicko, insane maniac”, etc., describe the tiny subset who go on violence and murder sprees. How do these psychology experts explain Cruz’s behavior? Was it “rational” or “normal”? Did Cruz’s mental problems have nothing to do with his utter lack of empathy, uncontrolled anger, failure to see consequences? Or was mass murder an “unfortunate choice” that had nothing to do with his mental illnesses?
Perversely, these “experts” are stigmatizing millions of individuals with controllable mental health issues by refusing to differentiate between levels of mental problems.
Personally, I don't think empowering people to conduct massacres of unarmed people is a good idea.
Nobody is applying the characterization of Cruz to anybody else except Prof. Corrigan. If shooting innocent teenagers isn't the definition of a "sicko" then what is?
It is sad to watch liberal logic at work. Trying to prevent dangerous mentally ill people from causing tragedies is somehow a bad thing since it stigmatizes mentally ill people who aren't dangerous. But, stigmatizing and discriminating against millions of perfectly healthy, non-violent gun owners who are actually helping to protect our nation is fine.

Handing out STIGMA is something that there needs to be much more of.
Back in the day when we called them sickos, loonies, psychos, etc. there weren’t any school shootings.
CNN is a stigma.
