Joe Scarborough said he wasn't justifying the failure of the Parkland deputy to enter the school during the shooting. But that's exactly what Scarborough did.
On Morning Joe, Scarborough said:
"There actually was a 'good guy with a gun,' as the President and every NRA member will say. There was a good guy with a gun at a school. There was a law enforcement officer with a gun at the school. And he didn't go in. In part, I am sure, because he was overmatched. Now, that's no justification."

How I love that show!
What BS. The standard procedure would be to draw the fire away from the kids. It wouldn’t be to commit suicide, but to distract the shooter enough until backup arrived. He didn’t do that. I am not qualified to judge him in any way, but neither is Joe Scarborough. It appears he decided to stay completely out of the way. That is not how most Law Enforcement would have handled it. On the other hand, if several of the Teachers had of been located around such a large campus, they would have been able to kill/distract the shooter so reinforcements could arrive in time. A fair, close examination of the situation must occur.
Well, if he didn’t go in, he wasn’t a good guy with a gun. He was just a guy.
A bullet from a handgun or a rifle is equal because of mass and its velocity. Velocity impacting flesh is the equalizer, not so much the firearm used once both are at or above an adequate and effective caliber.
Exactly.
Audie Murphy, Joe. Ever heard of him.
Why was the officer over matched? Did the officer not have a high powered semi automatic pistol with multiple magazines of ammunition? Was he not sufficiently trained in firearm combat techniques? He could take on a 19 year old mental person? When others lives were at stake?
Did Slo Joe take time away from RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA to whine about guns?
Sorry, but I think he is a pussy.
LOL- 321 members of the FDNY had no chance against the World Trace Center buildings on 9-11 yet heroically charged in trying to save as many people as possible...liberals are pathetic...
Return fire changes the order of battle. Who knows what could have happened.
He had a salary structure of $75,000 a year....with overtime counted, I think he was over $100,000 a year.
I think they need to review the terms of titles, and refuse to call people in his line of work ‘officers’ or ‘police’. I wouldn’t even use the word ‘security’. He was basically a social-worker in a police uniform.
Joe did mention those brave FDNY members.
But while Joe claimed he wasn’t justifying the deputy’s failure, he clearly was. And he made his motive in doing so obvious: to defeat the “good guy with a gun” argument.
Morning Joe and Mourning Ho backing the “good guy” for not doing his job as “overmatched”. Well, mentally, there’s no doubt about that.
Morning Joke is one of the stupidest people ever to have his or her own TV show, and there are legions of such stupid people.
Shades of Columbine.
“A parent would have not felt overmatched but empowered. The point is we cannot rely on any government bureaucrat.”
That’s a fact, friend.
EXACTLY!!!!
“Return fire changes the order of battle. Who knows what could have happened.”
Well, it certainly alters the equation. But Morning Joke wouldn’t know that.
