Black Panther set box office records on its way to becoming “a watershed in cultural history of African Americans,” wrote The Miami Herald’s Leonard Pitts Jr. Yet, the movie was typical Hollywood – filled with violence, including 163 shootings, while Marvel stars call for gun control.
Lupita Nyong’o, who played Black Panther’s love interest Nakia, advocated for gun control in the wake of the Orlando shooting. The actress posted a long message on Instagram, saying “most importantly, we simply need to put down the guns!” Other Marvel Avengers have weighed in as well. Captain America’s Chris Evans has called for “common sense gun reform.” And the Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo, has criticized conservatives for giving thoughts and prayers, and not actively pushing gun reform.
This hypocrisy is unusually blatant even for the film industry. It doesn’t matter whether the movie is Black Panther, Kingsman: Golden Circle or Gangster Squad. Hollywood promotes violence.
Yet, critics have been raving about how great Black Panther is and have touted it as a watershed moment in pop culture. Even former First Lady Michelle Obama argued, "It will inspire people of all backgrounds.”
The media agree that the movie sends a positive message. And it’s certainly fun with a decent moral message, but it is also off-the-charts violent. The Media Research Center tallied 373 instances of violence within the 2-hour runtime. 163 of those were instances of gun violence. This included the standard rifle and pistol attacks, and the use of high-tech Wakandian weapons, as well.

Maybe the gun control that is needed is Hollywood gun control.

Good thought. Heck, a kid cannot point his finger in the form of a gun without getting into trouble. So, Hollywood, quit making films with guns in them.
Why do we Allow Hollywood and the Entertainment Industry to glorify Guns and Violence, as well as morally bankrupt and down right destructive behavior, then peddle it to our children in the first place??
It’s like the porn industry campaigning against premarital sex. Except, the porn industry has sufficient integrity to avoid the hypocrisy that Hollywood falls into.
“Progressives” regularly lament that President Trump is close to a dictator, they even use the “N” word… (Nazi). Yet at the same time they demand only the government he controls be armed, and citizens be disarmed... by government “gun violence” (and threat thereof) if need be!
If true and Trump is indeed an authoritarian despot, “progressives” you will have learned why the 2nd Amendment was placed in the Constitution. #RustyIronyNoCureForStupid!
Hollywood is the zenith of hypocrisy...
When Hollywood stops using gun violence in their movies is when they are serious about it.

I've come to the conclusion that nothing that the Left says or does makes any sense when taken at face value. It only makes sense when seen through the prism of a war against western culture and against white people. What else could possible explain the fact that the Left either tolerates or celebrates in blacks and other non-whites (religion/superstition, gun ownership, "sexism and homophobia", ethno-nationalism) that they condemn among whites?
Also, producers must push updates to video games, PCs and movie players to block playing of any gun-related content. Now.
