MIDDLETON, New York -- An unlikely ally is meeting calls for more comprehensive gun control in America with action.
Scott Pappalardo has been a fervent advocate for gun owners' rights for more than 30 years.
The New York firearm owner even has a faded Second Amendment tattoo on his arm. What he doesn't have is an AR-15.
Pappalardo can be seen taking a circular saw to the weapon in a viral video filmed in the days after the deadly shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School, in Florida.
After giving an impassioned speech on gun ownership, Pappalardo concedes he no longer believes people should own high-powered weapons.
"Is the right to own a weapon more important than someone's life?" Pappalardo asks in the powerful video.
Pappalardo says he ultimately decided to destroy his AR-15 because he was concerned what might happen if the gun ever wound up in the wrong hands.
Notice that he merely cut the barrel rather than the lower, therefore not actually destroying the rifle. A relatively cheap bit of virtue signalling that libtards will love, and then he can later restore the rifle to full function.
If all he did was cut the barrel, he’s just made a SBR (Short Barrel Rifle). He’s in violation of the 1934 Firearms Act, but because he virtue-signaled, the BATF will never come after him.
Hey, wait a minute!
*I* *TOO* AM OPPOSED TO AR15’S, AND I TOO WILL ‘DESTROY’ MINE!!!!!
(heheheheh that guy just might be brilliant)
He just made a SBR.
And then he went back to his living room to eat some Tide pods.
DANG!
The right to not own weapons is just as valid as the right to own them. If he wants to be disarmed, that’s his business... just leave alone those law-abiding citizens who choose to keep theirs.
No proof.
Probably a staged act... IMHO.
Yeah, after listening to Maxwell’s Silver Hammer I destroyed all my hammers.
Apparently this guy really was thinking of using it to shoot innocent people. It’s just a tool.
The second amendment has always been voluntary...
Oppression will be made mandatory without volunteers to prevent it.
As others have already pointed out, he is now a felon for making a short barreled rifle. But a new barrel, handguard, and gas tube, and he is back in business.
Will he cut up his car or truck just in case it falls into the wrong hands and smashes into a crowd?
He says in the video, “I cant live knowing that my guns out there and it can one day possibly commit a horrific act like the other day in Florida.” “It” will commit the crime? Um....really?
Wonder if he owns a pressure cooker? If yes, he should take a hammer to it so it can be used for a bomb. Oops, almost forgot; he should turn in his hammer to the police after destroying his cooker.....
“I HATE it when folks with Italian names make asses of themselves :(”
A disgrace to the likes of Joe DiMaggio, Vince Lombardi, Frank Sinatra etc.
I have yet to see one of my firearms escape my gun safe. If someone is concerned about a rifle being stolen then spend some money on securing it. SMH
I purchased more ammo for mine!
What a stupid man.

You know, the “modern sporting rifle” thing is an evasion - Shakespeare refers all the time to “equivocation”, when Catholics had to hide their beliefs behind a smokescreen of Protestant-like words.
I have several hunting rifles. I also have a sufficient supply of autoloading, semi-automatic, high-powered 5.56 rifles and a decent supply of ammunition for them, but I sure didn’t buy them and I don’t practice with them or maintain them for hunting.
They ARE designed as anti-personnel weapons. That’s WHY I have them, and that’s WHY most Americans who haven’t lost them in a boating accident or cut them up with a circular saw have them, too.
There were Americans in the late 18th Century who thought that right - along with a few others - were important enough to risk and give their lives for... something the teenagers who think leftist activism is important might ponder.
As for Scott Pappalardo, a chickenshit street theater high usually doesn't last past the next news cycle. Emotional masturbation reported by ABC- who says is isn't real news.
