While everyone has been focused on Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election to support Donald Trump, the Franken takedown originated in—and was propelled by—a strategic online campaign with digital tentacles reaching to, of all places, Japan.
Analysts have now mapped out how Hooters pinup girl and lad-mag model Leeann Tweeden's initial accusation against Franken became effective propaganda after right-wing black ops master Roger Stone first hinted at the allegation.

To hear Newsweek whining about Twitter Bots, after getting Obama ELECTED TWICE using them via Soros Orgs and MoveOn groups to manipulated perceived opinion, is nothing short of astonishing.

The most difficult part of the operation was getting the Russian Bots into Al Franken’s mind to make him take that incriminating photo. Diabolical!
Republican goes down in scandal = justice, he had it coming to him, the free press did it’s job.
Democrat goes down in scandal = he is a victim of sinister right-wing Russian bots.

The problem isn’t “twitter-bots”. It’s “liberal-bots” (and “conserva-bots”) who’ve been trained to believe whatever they read/hear rather than think for themselves.
If people on social media had a clue and applied independent thought, “twitter-bots” would be useless. The same problem we’ve always had with “money in politics”. If people won’t think for themselves, politicians can buy ads/votes - no amount of campaign reform will change it.
