Evergreen State College Forecasts 20 Percent Drop In Enrollment (Whites Asked To Leave)
Breitbart ^ | 2-17-2018

The President of Evergreen State College announced this week that the college is predicting a 20 percent drop in enrollment for the upcoming fall semester. Evergreen president George Bridges announced this week that the college is facing a 20 percent drop in enrollment for the upcoming fall semester. The school currently boasts a student body of 3,800, but with the graduation of the current class of seniors this spring and the introduction of a smaller freshman class this fall, the total student body will drop to 3,100 students. The college was also hit with a five percent drop in enrollment at the start of the 2017-2018 academic year.

The drop in enrollment is attributed to the chaos that took place last spring when former Evergreen biology professor Bret Weinstein was forced off campus for disagreeing with an activism event that asked white community members to leave campus for a “day of absence.” In protest of Weinstein’s stance, students roamed the campus with baseball bats, aiming to intimidate anyone who dared to disagree with Evergreen’s progressive orthodoxy.

Former Evergreen provost Michael Zimmerman addressed the current enrollment issues at the college in a conversation with The College Fix.

“The enrollment crisis at Evergreen, and make no mistake about it, it is a crisis, will not be fixed until the actions of last spring are acknowledged and their underlying causes addressed,” Zimmerman said. “To pretend that students fleeing Evergreen is simply a function of the economy or because of bad press generated by the far right is both misleading and counter-productive.”

Any non minority parent, who sends their college age kids to this &$$$hole, is committing late years child abuse.

Maybe they could pawn the Rachel Corrie memorial - it’s a dove impaled on a pyramid, in a glass case. Might be worth 30-40 dollars.

Apparently the total drop in enrollments is about 25% due to the violence and threatened violence on campus.

At this point there seems to be no point whatsoever in enrolling at the school and there may be questions as to whether the college will survive.

They need a better president of that college to enforce peaceful freedom of speech and perhaps more active engagement with the local constabulary.

Anyone see a problem with this? /s

Why hasn't their been a federal civil rights investigation or more of all of this and the school? Federal funds to the school should be reviewed and if the above is norm and accepted, then cut federal funds because the school is/has created a hostile environment, an unsafe environment, for students. Our federal tax dollars will be better spent elsewhere.

A little insight into the swirling cesspool of internal contradiction and self-loathing that is the liberal “mind.”

A great man, carrying Evergreen forward into the non-White future.

Like a lot of schools on the west coast, they’re being overrun by latinos funded by our tax dollars. When your largest class is ESLand 90% of your student body latino women in their late teens/early twenties, you get a good look at how the reconquista will work.

I think Zimmerman does understand the problem:

“A fix, if even possible after the damage already done, will come only be returning Evergreen to its roots as a college steeped in the concept of open inquiry inherent in a true liberal arts education,” he said.

"If even possible" - I think he also understands the gravity of the situation. A 20% drop in enrollment constitutes an existential threat in an institution that is state-funded by enrollment numbers. The staff and facilities haven't been cut by 20%, but the source of funding has at least, and possibly more if it falls below certain funding thresholds. That's a net deficit that has gone from a scratch to arterial bleeding.

It wasn't hard to predict. Allowing anti-white racists to roam the campus with ballbats in a state whose racial composition is 80% white is likely to have a negative effect on the recruiting pool, isn't it? And 20% is much easier to lose than it is to regain.

But Evergreen has it coming. It became a playpen for the Left a long time ago: no grades means no standards, the dictatorship of the most radical students means no law but the mob, no law means no peace. To recover from this black hole of academic despair will require the expulsion of a significant piece of an already dwindling student body, compounding the problem, and which the current administration has shown neither the desire nor the ability to accomplish. It's likely to get worse before it gets better.

Numbers can be misleading. The problem is much larger than a 20% drop in overall enrollment. To cut total enrollment by 20% among a student body composed of freshman, sophomore's, juniors, and seniors means that freshman enrollment had to drop by at least 700 (3800 x .2 = 760). Due to dropout rates I am guessing that an incoming freshman class is usually larger than the sophomore class, and the sophomore class is larger than the junior class, etc. so I guesstimate that the freshman class is usually about 30% of total enrollment . Given a 3800 student means that new enrollment at about 1140 students. That means that the new incoming freshman class has like reduced to about 600 which is a 47% drop from Evergreen's typicL freshman enrollment which is disastrous.

I read that the people run in Evergreen have reached out to the University of Missouri, which is embroiled in the same scandal, for advice on how to handle the problem, just an idiot will ask another idiot for advice.

"This “Mizzou Effect” is a known factor among college leaders, and the official said Evergreen has been in contact with University of Missouri to learn from their experience." source http://www.thecollegefix.com/post/42073/

SHUT IT DOWN!

They have proved themselves unworthy to be considered an institution of learning. Abolish the place.

I'm sure he thinks the problem isn't the students carrying bats around threatening to assault people...the problem is all the white people didn't do what they were told....

Yes, what the article does not specify is that the enrollment for the upcoming freshman class must have crashed to an extremely low number (and/or a lot of current students may be transferring to other colleges).

Ideas have consequences. Actions have consequences. Did Evergree State College think that there would be no consequences to their policies? Even the most jaded ideologist knows that he should count the cost of his ideology. Or he should know!

Yes, back in the days when there were Black owned banks, insurance companies hotels, restaurants, and other businesses. Black principals and Black teachers turning out educated, hard-working citizens. The majority of Black children weren’t born bastards.

I have family in Missouri. They are not real happy with the university.

My question is if what happened in Evergreen and Mizzou really unique, or just that they got caught?
