Had Wednesdays massacre of 17 people at a Florida high school been different in one respect that is, had alleged perpetrator Nikolas Cruz shouted Allahu akbar during the course of his rampage conservatives would be demanding another round of get-tough measures.
Tougher immigration laws. Tougher domestic surveillance. A rollback of Miranda rights for the accused. Possibly even a Muslim registry. Constitutional protections and American ideals, goes the argument, must sometimes yield to urgent public safety concerns.
But Cruz, like Las Vegass Stephen Paddock or Newtowns Adam Lanza and so many other mass murderers before them, is just another killer without a cause. Collectively, their carnages account for some 1,800 deaths and close to 7,000 injuries in the United States since the beginning of 2013, according to The Guardian though thats only a small fraction of overall gun-related deaths. And conservatives have next to nothing of use to say about it.
Well, almost nothing. Some conservatives talk about the importance of mental-health interventions with the potentially violent. Florida Gov. Rick Scott wants to keep firearms out of the hands of the mentally ill. The Obama administration tried to do that after the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre by requiring the Social Security Administration to submit the names of severely unwell persons to the F.B.I.
Congressional Republicans and President Trump reversed the rule a year ago. Representative Salud Carbajal, a California Democrat, introduced a red flag bill last May that would make it easier for family members to keep firearms out of the hands of potentially dangerous relatives. The bill has 50 Democratic co-sponsors but not one Republican. Maybe the Parkland massacre will shame the majority into embracing the legislation.
But such laws can achieve only so much. Keeping track of dangerously unstable people who shouldnt own guns but do

Go ahead and try. That would signal an end to Claire Wolfe’s awkward stage.
The right to self defense, in the form of gun ownership, is not granted by the Second Amendment of the U. S. Constitution.
Rather, it is one of those “certain unalienable rights” that our nation’s founders recognized as being inherent, with which we are endowed by our Creator. They understood that governments have no rights, only powers granted to them by the people. So the government can never grant rights to people that are unalienable.
The Second Amendment is a limit on the government power. Many people are agitating to either eliminate the Second Amendment or redefine it to have the same effect. Even in the absence of the Second Amendment, we still have an inherent, unalienable right to self protection. And that means gun ownership.
I would like to think that a repeal of the 2nd Amendment would finally push the average, law-abiding, Constitution-respecting American citizen too far... I’d like to think that, but I really don’t know.
Ban the news media : The news media are the ones inciting these mentally ill people to commit massacres against unarmed people.
The news media causes these mass shooting massacres. The news media makes a loser world famous. This is why they do for the attention and to become world famous forever. to go out with a bang. These losers are mentally ill and would have committed suicide anyway . But the news media promises to make them a household name.
If there is an increase in recent decades ask yourself why?
Would it be the massive wall to wall media coverage? Yes.
You have a mentally deranged loser who nobody ever paid attention to and he keeps watching the media shootings on TV .
So he wants to be world famous too . And just the repetitive showing of something would trigger some mentally ill creeps. Monkey see monkey do. And the news media shows them how to do and how to become famous.
They have already repealed due process and requirement of evidence beyond heresay accusations for males.
No guns don’t kill people. Abuse of psychoactive drugs kills people.
Okay, then there are a few amendments I would like to limit as well.
His argument, in a nutshell:
17 people died, therefore no one except certain government employees can have modern self-defense weapons.
How does Carlos Slim fit into the international narco-kleptocracy?
And now we also have Secret Courts with anonymous judges signing off on secret warrants. None of this is Constitutional. I think the Deep State is behind these massacres, and want the public to be duped into giving up their last right of physical defense from tyranny.
They’d not be a lib left breathing air.....
Would only take 38 states and a civil war.
And the anti-repeal side has most of the guns.
Right. Repeal the Second Amendment; Start the Second Civil War. Simple cause and effect.
Yup and they have been false flagging to get this done a long time.
“...I think the Deep State is behind these massacres....”
I’ve been saying that ever since Columbine.
Somehow, they control these guys. I don’t know if it’s by some kind of drugs or what, but they do it. Then, turn em loose on a school when they feel the timing is right. IF it’s ever proven to true and we can find out who, give them about a 10 second court hearing. Then, line em up and immediately shoot them...period.
I did a little research on another thread, and just have to share it here. Given the pearl-clutching, couch-fainting, vapours-driven call by the NY Times to repeal the Second Amendment.
Don’t forget history (from Wikipedia):
“The main office of The New York Times was attacked during the New York Draft Riots. The riots, sparked by the beginning of drafting for the Union Army, beginning on July 13, 1863. On “Newspaper Row”, across from City Hall, Henry Raymond stopped the rioters with Gatling guns (early machine guns), one of which he manned himself. The mob diverted, and attacked the headquarters of abolitionist publisher Horace Greeley’s New York Tribune until forced to flee by the Brooklyn City Police, who had crossed the East River to help the Manhattan authorities.”
Henry Raymond was the founder of the NY Slimes. I wonder what he would think? Of interest, the NY Slimes was not the “abolitionist newspaper” - that was Horace Greeley, anti-slavery ‘radical Republican’ and plank-holder in the Republican Party. Some things never change.
Oh, saying Raymond “stopped the rioters” is a euphemism for “he shot them”.
See Tagline.

To Repeat:
Go straight to hell
Do not pass GO
Do not collect $200
Lunatic liberals forget the lessons of history here. HRH King George III believed that the Colonists had too many guns and too much ammunition at Lexington. So he ordered his Redcoats to March over and seize everything.
Fortunately for the Colonists and us today, he failed and sparked the creation of our Constitutional Republic along with it’s necessary Second Amendment.
