Nikolas Cruz was a known threat. Known by the administrators of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Its a clear case where a known dangerous student was not reported to the police. Why?
Because back in 2013, the Broward County School Board adopted a program where they dont relay information to police about troubled students.
NPR reported in Fla. School District Trying To Curb School-To-Prison Pipeline;
Its a move away from so-called zero tolerance policies that require schools to refer even minor misdemeanors to the police. Critics call it a school to prison pipeline.
Under a new program adopted by the Broward County School District, non-violent misdemeanors even those that involve alcohol, marijuana or drug paraphernalia will now be handled by the schools instead of the police.
Cruz was banned from carrying a backpack at school after bullets were found in his backpack. Cruz was expelled from MSD last year after a fight with his ex-girlfriends new boyfriend.
Non-violent misdemeanors? Even so, red flags were flying.
Again, the Broward County School Board has an official policy requiring that they dont tell the police about non-violent incidents with troubled youth.

Same reason they give diplomas to the illiterate - puff up the statistics. Need to reduce the rate of violence? Just stop reporting it.
Wasn’t that policy part of Holder’s and Obama’s school policies to keep the troublemakers in school as somehow being culturally misunderstood?
Teachers were to deal with miscreants differently than disciplining them?
This just one more of many examples of bleeding heart socialist-democrat policies getting people killed.
And the teachers in that school, as represented by NEA and teacher’s unions, endorsed the socialist democrat politicians who let this happen.
And the socialist-democrats could care less. It’s never about the issue with the socialist-democrats, it’s only about the revolution. Kids dying is a means to an end for them.
The schools are pointing fingers at the cops and FBI, the cops will blame the school and on and on it goes.
Btw, the FBI and local police already had Cruz’s number...
The first reason would be the large sums of money the school gets based on attendance.....the second would be due to pure incompetence at all levels from the F.amous B.ut I.ncompetent down to the school staff. Public schooling remains but child abuse.
” troubled students.” To me that term is so broad. Does it mean a student who might be having problems at home because dad is out of work and starts failing classes because of stress. Or does it mean Nicky with bullets in his back pack and a history of confrontation. There is a difference. Too bad the school board did not figure that out.
Coward County...Debbie Wasserman “Gun Control” Schultz’s district. 66.5% for Clinton, 31,4% for Trump. Nice going sheriff Israel and FBI.
“See something, say something, get sued.”
And ignored.
They are supposed to represent the taxpayers, but lazy taxpayers don’t usually vote in the school board elections. This allows “professional educators” to run for these positions unopposed. It’s like the fox guarding the hen house. As usual we get the government we deserve.
Lot of lawyers going to get rich over this fiasco...
Sesems like I remember this happening after Travon Martin incident.
When you take the law into your own hands, then you are vigilantes.
The natural progression for progressives.
See something, say something, get sued.
Yeah, like Clock Boy and throw in a visit to honor the perp at the WH.
I blame alternative dispute resolution, peer to peer mediation and whatever they are calling it this year. Basically sit in a circle and talk.
So whatever happened to him? I know he went to some muzzie country then cried to come home.
‘Zactly.
Robert Runcie is still the superintendent.
Wow. He really said that? Would love to see it.
