Before Nikolas Cruz carried out his mass killing at a Florida high school this week, police responded to his home 39 times over a seven-year period, according to disturbing new documents.
Details about the calls to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office — obtained from police records by CNN — were not immediately available and it was impossible to determine if all involved Cruz.
But the nature of the emergencies at his Parkland home included “mentally ill person,” “child/elderly abuse,” “domestic disturbance” and “missing person,” KTLA reported.
And a schoolmate, Brody Speno, told the network that cops were called to Cruz’s home “almost every other week.”

Yup. Same thing here in Pennsylvania. It’s called Section 302. Law enforcement can detain someone for up to 72 hours if they make a threat or appear to present a clear and present danger to themselves or others.
Absolutely agree. These people need to start doing their jobs.
Organizations ALWAYS circle the wagons around the survival of the organization. They will ALWAYS engage in cover-ups of malfeasance so that the organization may survive.
I know, I’m Catholic. My Church has been demonstrating this for a couple of millennia.

Yeah, they should have been charged. That shooting could have been prevented.

If he was never arrested for anything, nor officially committed to a mental hospital, he has ZERO criminal record for anything that would trigger the NICS or the state Instant Check system.
He’s not an “asset”. He’s a seriously mentally-disturbed kid whose adoptive parents died, who was bullied and beaten up one too many times, woke up one morning and decided “Today’s The Day!” and decided he was going to “get even” with everyone and everything on his hate list. He should have been “in the system” as a no-buy flag, but no one did their job and intervened when they should have.
This is a screw-up of the school system and law enforcement at multiple levels, that allowed this time bomb to fall through the cracks when all the warning signs were there to see.
The dems, predictably, are dancing in the blood - and eternally grateful for the distraction from the Nunes memo and their subversion being laid bare. And their buddies in the media are more than happy to help them.

And government entities do it in spades, because when you strip away the veneer of pseudo respectability, nearly all government entities are, primarily “vote buying jobs programs!” We have thousands of “boards and commissions” that are do nothings which give money to people for no show “jobs” in exchange for their fealty to the RAT Party.
I still believe that a good four week government shut down would be an “illuminating event!” We would be able to see just who is really worth keeping, and the government would keep the wage savings from the event, instead of giving it back to “the workers.” At 2% per week, that would be a savings on salaries alone of 8%!
Brody Speno and his family are people I know. I can’t imagine what is going on in his mind having grown up with this kid.
At the time of many of these visits he was probably a minor. It may take parental consent or an order from a judge to Baker Act a minor.
No arrests?
I have also read that he was already wearing the gas mask and carrying his smoke bombs and gun(s) when he entered the school. I could be wrong. But if that is true how come nobody noticed? Was it that confusing during a fire-drill close to dismissal time?
Has anyone seen a layout of the school yet?
Why didn’t all this law enforcement activity result in him being banned on the national registry that gun dealers have to use to clear a purchase? Blame law enforcement down there for this one.

I can't see how SAIC Forcelli is not lying thru his teeth regarding the form 4473.
In this case, Cruz, was a former student who knew when everything would be open, dismissal. He simply walked past the moms in the car pool lane, into the building, pulled the fire alarm, and openeded up like rats in a barrel. He then dropped the gun, and ran out w the rest with his hands in the air w the rest, and walked away.
Theoretically perhaps, but in reality it's a whole 'nother kettle of rotting fish.
Bingo! It is sad but true that there are people who are not equipped to cope and live safely with others who are. We used to call them mentally ill and if something could be done for them to allow them to be safe around others and cope with life we did. If not, we had to commit them because they would not let the rest of us live more-or-less safely.
When the liberal wackos declared all people equal and closed the asylums they created much of the mess we have now. Insane people living on the street and amongst us committing insane acts. We did not wait until they committed a crime to lock them up because experience showed that it was mostly only a matter of time before they did something truly tragic just as this insane kid did and just as others have done.
People need to get a clue. The problem is not guns it is insanity and treating insane people as equals and mainstreaming them in places where they can’t successfully cope.
And THAT, my FRiends, is the rest of the story.
I don’t think social media posts alone should be reason for detaining a person against their will. But it should be part of deciding whether a person presents a threat to themselves or others. Along with
1. Recurring domestic violence complaints.
2. Obsession with weapons.
3. Fascination with mass killings.
4. Treatment with certain medications when dealing with persons of certain age.
5. School expulsions and suspension for behavioral problems.
6. For minors and young adults the number of times a parent has run interference with LE and the court system.
7. Contacts with radical groups.
Good summation but I have not read he was bullied and beaten up. What is your source on that?
