Attorney General Jeff Sessions told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview on Thursday that the Department of Justice was ending the executive branch legal activism of the previous administration, while also fighting the judicial activism of liberal judges. I think the department did become too political under President Barack Obama, Sessions said. Essentially, it was executive branch legal activism. They would take cases or regulations or statutes and expand or redefine the meaning of words in them to advance the agenda that they thought ought to be advanced an agenda that often had zero chance of passing Congress, where the elected representatives sit.
So you have an agenda, and you cant get Congress to pass it, so you use unelected regulatory officials and lawyers to draft regulations and enforcement policies that carry out a political agenda that the people dont favor.

When draining thew swamp, the first to be flushed out are bottom-feeders like Maxine Waters, and a close second are activist judges and prosecutors who have their collective lips planted on perpetrator’s butts and their political cronies. Fire all Federal prosecutors, rehire the right-minded ones, hire new right-minded ones. Same for as many judges as possible.
Well Jeffie let’s talk about there is NO constitutional law prohibiting cannabis!
So, the DACA rule enacted by an Obama EO runs out in March, right? Can activist judges resurrect it after it dies? It was never a law anyway. I will enjoy watching them try to force it on our citizenry after it expires. (Assuming the Senate will not be able to actually support any Bill that comes up to resurrect it)
Glad to see Jeff figured out what weve known about for years. Obama weaponized the EPA when his cap and trade deal fell through.
Yeah, it’s like he thinks he’s an attorney general or something.
I’ve found it fascinating that a bill becomes a law when congress passes it and the president signs it, yet agencies like the EPA can create rules out of thin air and suddenly they are enforced as though they were supported by the rule of law just as a “real” law is.
It would be interesting to see someone violate an EPA rule with impunity and take it all the way to the SCOTUS with the argument that, though they can pass “rules”, there is no authority to enforce them until the Congress creates a matching bill, passes it, and it gets the president’s endorsement.
Something like this happened with prohibition. The 18th amendment had to be followed up by the actual enforceable laws. On it’s own, it didn’t do anything other than allow them to create the laws that were then enforced.
There was no Obama EO on DACA. It’s just a DHS practice that Pres. Trump is playing along with to embarrass Congress.
If you think throwing us a bone is going to make us like you now you are sorely mistaken.
Go back to bed sleepy.
So, is Sessions going to discharge his duty, or will he continue to remain AWOL?
He hasn’t been sleeping. I’ll bet he’s one of the hardest working men in political history. And all he has to show for it is many attempts of back stabbing.
This article was fantastic, you can clearly see what Sessions is up to and how he thinks. If I was a dirty fib or doj employee, I’d be concerned....
Nuremberg is coming.
If it is just a DHS practice, how can judges keep resurrecting it on their own???
I wish more people understood this! DACA is NOT a law, it was a memo.
A tick on a dog's ass can kill the dog, y'all might want to re-think your 'it doesn't matter' analogy.
Because the Executive Branch won’t tell them to suck eggs, and Congress won’t rein them in.
Not only is it not a law, it’s not even an executive order binding only on the bureaucracy.
NEWS FLASH!

Attorney General Jeff Sessions finally ready to spring into action any moment!
Rod Rosenweasel’s appointment of Weasel Mueller is a classic example of what Sessions claims to be rooting out.
He has time to do interviews but we don’t hear from him when he is on the job??????
Maybe I am way out of touch????
That’s what I don’t understand about this whole congress action right now. It’s not a law, it’s not an EO, it’s not binding. Why do the Republicans HAVE to address it? Why is it Republications that have to “fix” it? AND WHY AREN’T REPUBLICATIONS SCREAMING FROM THE ROOFTOPS THAT THIS IS NOT A LAW THAT IS BROKEN AND NEEDS FIXING?
The stupid party strikes again............
Nice talk, but no action. He’s left those activist Obama appointees and hires in place, even running it. And Sessions and the White House hands-off approach is abject failure as they have the DOJ and FBI and others allied against them for over a year now. Ridiculous.
