Florida shooting: Teachers 'were warned' about Nikolas Cruz
BBC ^ | 2-15-18

Teachers were warned in advance about the teenager who allegedly carried out a mass shooting at his former school in Florida, US media are reporting.

Nikolas Cruz has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder following the deadliest shooting at a US school since 2012.

A teacher said Mr Cruz was not allowed on campus with a backpack.

Seventeen people were killed in the attack and many more injured. Several people are in a critical condition. Mr Cruz, 19, apparently left the scene of the shooting by blending in with fleeing students, but was arrested several miles away and is now in police custody. What was the warning?

Maths teacher Jim Gard told the Miami Herald that school authorities had emailed teachers about Mr Cruz's behaviour.

"We were told last year that he wasn't allowed on campus with a backpack on him," Mr Gard told the Miami Herald. "There were problems with him last year threatening students, and I guess he was asked to leave campus."

........haven't heard a word from his parents......

Do we want to hear from them?

When Natalie Holloway went missing on a class trip in Aruba, the mother of suspect, Joran Vandersloot, told the world, "he's a good kid." And reportedly his father helped him dispose of her body.

Then he killed another girl.

Unconscionable.

FBI $$$ spent to protect Obama

FBI $$$ spent attempting to delegitimize legitimate President

FBI $$$ wasted and drops ball on legitimate threat to Americans

Why would Ben say no. I’d be like, “What do you mean, know Cruz? In what way?”

This is so, so odd. It’s like there was such a bias to get along to get along.

Bullying has long been an issue. Who addresses bullies and how? As we can see, the usual proud freeper story about teaching the bully a supposed lesson by knocking him out isn’t always followed by a now-compliant bully. The problem is sometimes shuffled around, not addressed.

Truth.

I just don’t think there is any iron clad way to prevent violence.

Yup. That will happen after the Millennium.

All we can do is mitigate the risk. And, frankly, we’re doing a pretty good job now when you consider how few kids it’s happening to, percentage-wise, considering just how violent our culture is, and how our laws are not being enforced. It’s amazing it’s not full blown mayhem.

I hate to say this...but if you went around all of Florida and started to really note bad-behavior kids who might be a threat (even at age ten)...you’d probably have to lock up about a thousand Floridian kids. Personally, if that kid is on some behavior modification drug, and you can’t depend on him being safe...that kid needs to go into a facility and be there for the rest of his life. Until we are willing to accept that type of social requirement....the mess will continue to repeat itself.

Armed guard on school roof would have dropped the little psycho BEFORE he entered the school. NOT insisting on mainstreaming mentally ill kids into schools with normal kids would prevent a lot. They are NOT normal and subjecting helpless students to them doesn’t make them so-it just makes it dangerous for everyone. All the warnings were ignored why? Because we can’t ‘profile’? Well he’s damn well profiled now- as a murderer!! Why are helpless students unprotected? Why CAN’T mental cases strolling toward a school armed be shot while approaching? It’s gotten that bad. Dead bodies say so. This waste of human skin should have been shot on site-not ‘detained’. Cut and dried murder. NO lawyers or trial needed. And I don’t want to ‘understand’ evil, I want to destroy it.

Not saying that. But this kid apparently lingered on campus for some time, without being challenged. He also was expelled for making threats to other students.

Every occupation has dumb nuts, not just educators.

Public schools, by and large, are basically dull sheep raising another generation of dull sheep.

Let's not forget the Department of Education, Congress, State Departments of Education that have forced their liberal ill-conceived curriculum, ideology, social mores, not to mention dummie-downed expectations, etc. on not only school children and parents but teachers as well.

Of course.

But educators have a bell curve that is at least 1-2 standard deviations to the left of most other professions.

His parents were in their fifties when he was adopted. That’s not the usual recipe for success.

Don't forget the huge number of children that are literally being raised by grandparents of all ages some even in their 70's and 80's. . .

Which other occupations have individuals that directly and personally affect the thinking of our young, gullible, impressionable children on a daily basis?

Teachers stand alone here, as do parents.

No. However, this kid was expelled for making threats against other students. He commented on a youtube video about being “a professional school shooter.” If I walk into a building and tell you that I am going to shoot you, I can be locked up for making a terroristic threat. This nut made specific threats against this school prior to this.

Sessions is speaking - blah, blah, blah. Lots of words but nothing of substance. He has to go.
