On a Monday night (February 12th, 2018) episode of Tucker Carlson a democrat member of the House Intelligence committee said something interesting that almost everyone missed. Appearing on the show to joust with Tucker, HPSCI member Eric Swalwell stated: the House Intel Committee has not interviewed a single witness in over a month. [Video Here, quote @03:47] This statement is rather enlightening.
A month earlier, January 4th, 2018, an agreement was finally made between House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes and DOJ Asst. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein for complete disclosure of all unreadacted documents.....AND a list of witnesses who Nunes wanted the HPSCI to question.
[.....]
So to summarize so far: during January all the DOJ documents arrived, the HPSCI (Nunes) memo was written, released, declassified and released to the public on February 2nd, 2018 but no witnessed testified. [Nunes Memo Link]
So the question becomes:
How does the exact testimony (including quotes) of Bruce Ohr, and Bill Priestap become part of the Nunes Memo if neither Bruce Ohr or Bill Priestap was ever interviewed by the House Intelligence Committee?
[...]
Heres what is becoming transparently obvious. The fab-five are cooperating with the investigative unit of the OIG. All five of them.
The text message release was strategic. It was intended to substantiate the entire enterprise, put the small group on notice and flush out the co-conspirators. The downstream exits of Kortan, Laufman, Rybicki, McCabe et al are evidence therein.
Additionally, the OIG (Horowitz) would want to keep the testimony of Page, Strzok, Ohr, Baker and Priestap away from the Democrat politicians, well known leakers, within the House Intelligence Committee (ie. Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff) until he was certain their usefulness as witnesses was exhausted.

Yes. There’s always a choice.
Scooter Libby happened the way it did because of W’s passivity and total unwillingness/inability to offer the public a counter-narrative, e.g. THE TRUTH. We are so used to Pubbies that do not/will not fight back that many of us are afflicted with “learned helplessness.” Trump is a fighter. He has already demonstrated that he can sway public opinion. Just let these commie/isis/muslim apologists like Mueller try and indict the Trump family for process crimes. You think Starr’s reputation was wrecked by the Clinton Crime Family? That was a day at the beach compared to the p.r. power of Trump!
It'll start with the OIG DOJ report around this time next month. That's when:
1)Michael Flynn will rescind his guilty plea or
2)Muller will drop any and all charges against him or
3)Judge Emmet G. Sullivan will vacate Flynn's guilty plea and send him on his way.
Any of these will be a fatal blow to the Muller investigation and the MSM will cover none of it.
He was under the radar for quite a while.
"Remember, the original mandate by the Inspector Generals office was initiated to review and discover any politicization of the FBI and/or DOJ officials [ I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andys office that theres no way he gets elected but Im afraid we cant take that risk. Its like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before youre 40.]After news broke of Strzoks removal from investigative duty within the FBI counterintelligence unit, what the OIG responding statement said was for 11 months the Dept of Justice OIG office has been investigating the politicization within the DOJ and FBI and deciding if the actions, or lack of action, was driven by the political ideology of the participants therein"
They've come a long way in just a month since this...
"Horowitz wrote that he will explore allegations that Department or FBI policies or procedures were not followed in connection with both [Comey] letters. When he is finished, his office will probably issue a lengthy report detailing what it has found, as it has done in other high-profile matters, though it is also possible he could recommend criminal charges for anyone found to have broken the law."
Rosenstein signed off on one bogus FISA warrants applications.
You, F.R., are sounding a LOT like a complete fool.
Gee, let's see.
Obama appointed Horowitz? That is correct.
Sessions is recused? That is correct.
Rosenstein is corrupt? That is correct.
Nunes is shut out from interviewing Baker, Ohr, Priestap, Strozk and Page? That is correct.
Rosenstein making a deal with the Fab 5? That was the supposition of the article, not mine. I used the word "if".
You know what A.L.E.G? You sound a lot like an idiot.
Any number of reasons:
1) They have something on him from U1 and he gets to walk out the hero
2) They don’t have anything on him from U1 and he gets to walk out the hero
3) It’s obvious that the Ds are dirty as hell . . . and he gets to walk out the hero.
4) He knows there is nothing on DT.
Waaaay beyond 'reading between the lines'... Sundance is paying serious attention... Seems Priestap is singing afterall.
You're right. W wouldn't even stand up for his friends. He was a patrician in a cowboy hat.
If you read at bottom of the article he does explain that the IG cant get people to talk but he can work alongside DOJ to find the answers. Its either Sessions or Ronstein
Wait to see how straight the shot is before deciding if Horowitz is a straight shooter.
save it, kid.
I read here on FR that the IG can’t issue a subpoena.
How much inspecting can you do like that?
Sure. Anything you say, son.
The OIG is a division inside the Department of Justice. During an internal investigation if the IG becomes aware of unlawful activity he/she is obligated to inform the AG (Sessions) or AAG (Rosenstein). He cant ignore it and he cannot delay notification of it. Unlawful activity must be reported.
The IG does not have legal or prosecutorial authority the IG must immediately refer unlawful activity to the proper authority; essentially to his boss. A DOJ prosecutor is then assigned to work with the IG and essentially creates a parallel investigation focused only on the law-breaking part.
[That prosecutor could, likely would, then begin a Grand Jury proceeding;
no-one outside the AG, AAG, and that prosecutors office would know.]
With Sessions recused on all investigations connected to Hillary, wouldn't the DOJ prosecutor selected fall under the purview of the Acting AG, Rosenstein?
Look at the DOJ website.
The three senior DOJ execs really don’t handle actual details of prosecutions. The OIG investigates and hands off “for appropriate criminal prosecution, civil litigation, and administrative action.” The DAG would handle ‘administrative action’, and other divisions would handle their respective areas.

Yes, of course the acting AG would not handle the details of the case. But an acting AG would ultimately be responsible for all work done at the DOJ, where the AG is recused.
If they are investigating the FISA court application and since Rosenstein name is on one of the signing off of it I actual doubt he is the DOJ lead prosecutor....its someone else
