President Donald Trump unveiled his $1.5 trillion infrastructure plan on Monday at the White House, criticizing the amount of money wasted in the Middle East before he was presdient. He estimated that the United States had spent $7 trillion in the Middle East, calling it a “mistake.”

“It’s crazy… $7 trillion in the Middle East, and the Middle East is far worse now than it was 17 years ago when they went in,” Trump said. “And not so intelligently, I have to say, went in. I’m being nice.”

As part of his plan, Trump said that the administration would accelerate the permitting process for state and local projects.

“Washington will no longer be a roadblock to progress,” he said. “Washington will now be your partner.”

The plan proposes $200 billion in federal funds that would encourage at least $1.5 trillion in infrastructure investments through state and local funding as well as private investment.

What do we have to show for the wars in the Middle East?

You know if Trump is responsible for investing a trillion dollars into our infrastructure, it will have results like nothing you have seen before.

Trump is actually making points similar to talking points from the “no blood for oil leftists” who manufactured their talking points in opposition to Bush

Regardless, today I still see knee-jerk leftists calling the mid-east “Trump’s Wars” It seems their hypocrisy and stupidity never cease.

DJT should have blasted every war since the JFK years. My poor country has been at war continuously since then. This generation knows more about war than it does about peace. We have been the unpaid policeman of the world all those years. And we wonder why we are in so much debt. We are spending ourselves and the next generations into the poorhouse.

As long as they add a lane to the 15 freeway, I’m all on board.

He’s doing what should have been done decades ago but wasn’t. We are fortunate to have him appear now as our President.

Trump’s domestic economic policy is a good bit of Keynes, and even more FDR.

"Trump’s domestic economic policy is a good bit of Keynes, and even more FDR."

Of course no where in his history or campaign rhetoric did the President claim to be an ideological fiscal conservative.

Not even close. His spending is not Keynes and the infrastructure isn’t an FDR jobs program, it is for needed repairs whose can has been kicked down the road for far too long.

Finally!

Someone at a high level in the government who sees things clearly.

You are absolutely correct. He promised to spend an absolute ton of money and cut taxes. He also said he would balance the budget, but I think that was a distant third in priority.

Rand Paul gave a magnificent speech in the US Senate while he was delaying the vote on that outrageous guns and butter budget. In it, he excellently mocked some of the more bizarre wasted spending in the ME, particularly on useless and already-blown-up infrastructure. Perhaps President Trump watched the speech.

it is for needed repairs whose can has been kicked down the road for far too long.

It is needed for infrastructure repairs that Obama had $900 billion in stimulus money from taxpayers to do.

But somehow the repairs never got done while most of the stimulus money ended up in the wallets
and foreign bank accounts of democrats and their friends.

Yep - and with Trump's policies, the jobs will be expedited w/o the usual long-term graft and then, as he puts it, done ahead of schedule and under budget....

MAGA!!!
