White House: Trump lawyers in favor of appointing second special counsel

Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah told reporters on Air Force One Monday that President Trump's attorneys have already approved the idea of appointing a second special counsel to investigate the FBI and Justice Department's actions during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to White House pool reports.

Shah also said that the White House will approach further memos, including the one created by Democrats, in the same way they handled the memo authored by Devin Nunes: "Which is to allow for a legal review, national security review led by the White House Counsel’s Office, and then within five days the president will make a decision about declassifying it," said Shah.

Worth noting: Trump reportedly stated that he was in favor of releasing the Nunes memo before actually seeing it.

This is about the FBI and FISA, so Sessions can do it

The memo is connected to Hillary, so Sessions refuses to do it.

Because of that the WH wants a Special Prosecutor.

Sessions will do what the Deep State tells him to do. They own him.

Rudy might be ready to get back in the game.

Rudy made it clear over a year ago, that he is very much out of the game, and has no interest in serving in any capacity.

Rudy has said that he's not interested, and Christie is a bum.

Your other candidates all have merit.

TALK IS CHEAP. Appoint one, already. Lot of talk on many fronts. This is wearysome.

not in DC but i catch your drift

if the doj would grow a pair and serve up some indictments and QUIT WASTING OUR MONEY ON SPECIAL COUNCILS. How much evidence does sleepy sessions need to pull the trigger and start doling out some justice.

if president trump needs to drop this 2nd council crap, fire sessions if he doesn't schiff or get off the pot and start handing out some indictments. trump saying that it was treason for not clapping for his speech is a stretch but what the fbi, dnc, doj, obama and hillary is NOT. time for justice

sorry for no caps. shoulder surgery and one arming it

Every day Sessions is bringing tears of pain to my eyes. Up till now he has been the Manchurian Attorney General. The house is burning down and Jeff isn’t making any of us feel he has command of the situation. Please Jeff prove me wrong for God sake.

No rinos. They’re easily lead astray.

Who knows how much dirt Obama had on lots of people.

No one with background trouble. The media will focus only on the special council.

Steve Mnuchin is a parasite and I am done with Trumps failure to take the necessary and JUSTIFIED steps to DESTROY the WASHINGTONIANS and restore the Republic.

He governs like a man scared of being Impeached.

He is underestimating the domestic enemies ability to destroy him and in the process is BETRAYING those who voted for him.

In just about every other country on the planet TODAY , all of these MF’s would be arrested or have been shot by now.

This is like pardoning Benedict Arnold and giving the Rosenbergs full pensions instead of the electric chair.

We are so EFFED.

Why not a federal grand jury instead?

A special council could take years to get to the truth, a grand jury weeks or months.

A grand jury can be empaneled immediately (if not using one already formed). A special counsel could take months to get off the ground.

Besides, a grand jury can be instructed to remain focused on x, y and z...while a special council can go off in any and every direction it wants.

A fed grand jury would be better...lets get some indictments before summer!
