My cousin is an anesthesiologist. I think she is really smart, but she works 13 hours every day and perhaps doesn't have time to think. She is saying the dumbest leftist things, but I know she is not a bad person.
Perhaps you guys have some pieces of advice on how to talk with your family when they've been fooled like that.
There are some people wired to view the universe differently, you can’t fix them and they may be otherwise pleasant people. You won’t change them and when they understand they can’t change you, you can find some common ground and be friends.
Next time she bitches about surgery on an 85 year old, dare her to accompany you to the side of a vibrant healthy 85 year old and explain to their face that should they fall ill, they aren’t worth saving.
And part 2, ask her why she participates in surgeries she opposes so much. Tell her to make a stand and refuse to work on them. Put her money where her leftist mouth is.
Just start making sheep sounds when she starts talking her stupidity.

You are wrong. When there is socialized medicine then the death panels are not something particularly evil. They are the logical continuation.
When government is paying the Porsche of a surgeon then the surgeon goes and does things to get this Porsche. As my cousin said ... the government in Germany looked at whether the patient is alive after 6 months. So when the heart surgery became easy the surgeons wanting the government money just had to make sure the patient lives 6 months and a day after the surgery. Rote heart surgeries of people dying 6 months + one day, all paid by the government, to make the surgeons rich.

Talking to them is easy.
Getting it through their thick skulls is the hard part.

Have her tour the euthanasia center since she is in Germany. Have her explain why supports involuntary euthanasia. If she is in favor of denying life saving treatment due to age without the persons consent...that is what exactly she is wanting.

I simply try not to talk to them.
I will say there is a difference between denying someone treatment and letting them die on their own, and what they did at Hadamar, which was hastening their death by poisoning or gassing them.
Ask them how their 401k is doing under Trump.
Or if they have noticed the impact on unemployment.
Just stay to the obvious positives and avoid the controversial topics.

I try not to talk to stupid people. Had a lefty friend that actually thought Sarah Palin said “ I can see Russia from my house”! And she thinks she;s so smart! I made her Google it, and she was kind of pissed that I was right.

I like this cousin. I have great respect for her and I am very sad that she is so stupid.
I would simply point out the difference between the parties, Democrats are intent on controlling speech, thought and action while Conservatives support individuality and liberty. You can give examples when she asks as they are blatant.
