The White House will announce its own bill which codifies DACA into law and fulfills its stated immigration priorities next Monday, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced at Wednesday’s White House briefing.
“This framework will fulfill the four agreed-upon pillars: securing the border and closing legal loopholes; ending extended-family chain migration; cancelling the visa lottery, and providing a permanent solution on DACA,” Sander’s statement said.
The press secretary gave scant information to reporters on what the permanent fix for the Obama-era protections for illegal immigrants will entail. Options include merely shielding these illegal immigrants from deportation and allowing them have work permits, grant them temporary protected status, or offer them a pathway to citizenship.
Trump has maintained his four immigration priorities throughout negotiations with democratic lawmakers over DACA. Democratic lawmakers, however, have been recalcitrant to appropriate the approximately $20 billion the White House has requested for a wall along the US-Mexico border.

Schumer will pop a forehead artery before agreeing to this. It will cost too many new democrat voters.
This will get interesting. It doesn’t look like a bad DACA bill is veto proof.
One more deal the Democrats can’t accept.

I’m not getting excited until I see the details of the DACA “solution”.
Always good for a leader to put forward some plan of his own to get things rolling - gets the troops picking and tearing at it, but at least it gets the conversation going and moves the process ahead.....
This issue is non-negotiable. You forget the fact that the Dems will use the federal courts and their kook left-wing groups to undermine whatever compromise is signed into law.
And stop conflating the two! Dreamers are not DACA recipients. They are a separate class of illegals who want amnesty.
They're just going to have to accept the fact that there will be some DACA amnesty
Like I said, you give these folks amnesty, they're going to start filing lawsuits and such. If there's going to be a deal, then give ONLY THE VERIFIED CHILDREN OF ILLEGALS permanent residency status - meaning they can't vote and can't suckle off the taxpayer teat - that can be revoked at any time, and only after all of Trump's immigration initiatives are funded and codified into law.
Yes to path to citizenship. 10 to 12 years to prove they are worthy to be an American citizen.

Work permits that have to be renewed each year with good behavior.

I have little faith in the 60 vote threshold holding a Trump bill up for passage, as written.
More than half of the Senate breathlessly awaits a chance to impeach the man and have hitched their wagon to Mueller pressing charges.
The Left, and certain treacherous Republican senators, will sniffle over the Wall, or it’s funding, and will require some degree of humiliation for Trump that might then be used to shrink his powerful base if he should blink, in order to get the bill passed.
Of course, I live on hope, so we’ll see how much the Swamp delivers.

I agree. We're going to get stuck with DACA one way or the other. We might as well make the Dems pay dearly for it.

Whatever DACA deal ultimately emerges, should go into effect only after the wall has been *completely* constructed. Otherwise, it’s like 1986 amnesty deal all over again.
