French President Emmanuel Macron made global warming a central part of his World Economic Forum speech on Wednesday in Davos, pledging to close all of his countrys coal-fired power plants by 2021.
Macrons anti-coal pledge comes as Ecology Minister Nicolas Hulot announced France failed to meet its 2016 global warming target to limit greenhouse gas emissions to 447 million metric tons.
Hulot said France would revise its global warming targets to better align with its Paris climate accord commitment to go carbon neutral by 2050, Reuters reported. Macron has been one of the most vocal supporters of the Paris climate accord, which went into effect in 2016.

Cheese and Macron(ee). If you can't meet the goal, simply move it to a later date. A word comes to mind---deferred. Apparently it means something different when applied to trespassers in the US. To them, deferred means forever.

Doesn’t this reporter know? Leftwing leader’s don’t have to show results. They just have to lecture everyone else about adopting Socialist and Leftwing policies.

The only nation that has ever reduced its polutants was the good old USA. But these clowns wanted us to pay billions to them to get them to clean up their own mess. Sorry. Only our ex-president was fool enough to fall for that rip off.

Why wait? Close them now and buy coal from West Virginia. This way you are carbon neutral.

Currently getting a slushy mix of AGW at my house. Looks like traffic westbound into the Sierras is pretty much stopped right now on I-80.

It's been very light on the snow, and moderately cold (20 or in the 20s) for a couple of weeks, some days it's been a downright pleasant 32 degrees. I'll take the colder temp and no snow any day. :^)
