Democratic Senators believe amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants is the civil rights issue of our time, declared Sen. Dick Durbin, just before he voted January 22 to end the 2018 budget filibuster. Durbins promotion of illegal immigrants above African-Americans and other Americans spotlights the partys decision that Americans deficits in wealth, job opportunities, and education are subordinate to the partys strategy of allying with business to import foreign voters via the nations mass-immigration laws.
Durbin spoke just before the vote began, saying:
So many of you cast a vote that was very hard and very difficult because you believed as I did that the issue of immigration, the issue of dreamers, is the civil rights issue of our time. You stuck your necks out and said Im willing to go on record even if it is going to be hard to explain back home, but I will never forget that.

I thought transgender bathrooms were the civil rights issue of our time.
That is a ready made campaign commercial to target Black America if the Pubbies only had the guts to produce it.
It is, but for the opposite reason. Either we’re a nation of laws or we’re a lawless entity without borders. Where’s the respect for Civil Rights FOR Americans ? Not an inch for illegal invaders from foreign countries. Deportation for all. No Amnesty !
Senator Durbin is wrong.
This is not a civil rights issue. These people have rights back home, wherever it is they come from. Just because they managed to get inside this country does not mean they have the rights of US citizens.
Why should one person have rights in the US because they have broken US law, and another person, still in Mexico, does not? How does that make sense?
Amnesty of any kind is akin to the erasure of borders altogether. What do we do if another 100 Million people decide that, all things considered, they would rather live in the United States? How are we going to absorb that many people?
Because if we erase our border, that is exactly what will happen.

He’s right - the Dem’s citizenship giveaway to foreign criminals plan violates American’s civil rights.
Boy this guy certainly does blaze new trails in the seeming rush to Zero IQ.
He, San Fran Nan, and Schrumer seem to be in a dead heat to the bottom.
I didn’t know that mexico had any US senators. Last time I checked, people in congress are elected to represent US citizens, not foreign nations, and not the interest of mexico.
I thought mandating the use of proper gender pronouns was The Civil Rights Issue of Our Time.
Black people arent going to like this one...I think the Dems have jumped the shark.
No, ABORTION is.
“Civil rights” begs the question, since the presumption is that “civil” rights extend to all humanity. It’s really, if you think of it, an abdication of nationhood, in this formulation. A declaration, really, of global anarchy.
No amnesty to Dreamers. And no compromise to get them amnesty. This is a slippery slope. iirc, R. Reagan's amnesty was supposed to have been a one-time thing. It never is.
Ya know Id have more respect for the douche bag if he actually told the TRUTH about why Dems want illegals to get amnesty SO badly..come on Dickie just SAY IT “We want illegals to get amnesty so they can ALL vote Democrat and change the demographic in this country forever..Democrats would always be in power” come on Dickie just SAY IT
Wasn’t the Paris Climate Change Non-Treaty the Civil Rights Issue of Our Time?
Haven’t we been told that the homosexual, transgender, lesbian, and whatever the hell they want to be, is the Civil War of this generation?
Build the damn wall and drop this useless sewer scum on the other side
If the DACA people get documented, the U.S. Congress needs to issue a formal apology to ALL Mexicans who were denied visas, many who were upright, decent and law abiding people who wanted to visit LEGALLY.
Wasn’t Gay Marriage the ‘Civil Rights Issue Of Our Time’ a couple years ago?
