Henry, Henry, Henry! Youre not supposed to admit on national TV that your vote is a cynical stunt!
This was hilarious: a politician openly admitting that his intended vote on an important matter would be a stunt, and one he would change if his vote actually counted for something.
Appearing on CNN this morning, Dem Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas repeatedly said that he would vote no on the continuing budget resolution . . . unless his vote was actually needed to avoid a shutdown. In which case he would vote yes. CNN host Alisyn Camerota called Cuellar out for attempting to be on both sides of the issue.

Somebody tell Democrat Cuellar: you’re not supposed to admit on national TV that your vote is a cynical stunt!
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Shutting down the AMERICAN Govt. because they love ILLEGALS MORE! Disgusting people.....they only want them because they will vote DEMOCRAT and because MOST of them are on WELFARE and therefore easy to manipulate!
Pandering to the base. An art form for both Democrats and Republicans.
Agreed, though I’ve rarely seen it done so blatantly! A little finesse, Henry!
Hell Alisyn, at least the guy was honest.
Your a vile member of the Sh*thole Party, so your vote is meaningless... to Americans.
Good for Henry.
The Democrats are close to admitting that if the government shuts down, they are the ones who did it this time.
Surprise, surprise................................
His district is so Democrat that he can literally say anything and win more than two-thirds of the vote. I don’t know if he even has a 2018 opponent.
You’re right on both counts. Cuellar got exactly 2/3 of the votes in 2016, and there he has no announced opponent for 2018.
His only vulnerability would be in a primary.
Their cavalier and open intent is now casual. And there is a good reason why. There are no consequences for democrats because most democrat voters a) don’t pay attention, b) don’t care, whatever it takes and c) have no moral compass or values they are true to.
I am stumped by the appearance that the every day, hum-drum, ignorant democrat voter also does not like our country. I routinely question, “What is it that they want America to look like in their perfect government run country?” I can describe a pretty free and nearly unfettered Capitalist society. But a liberal’s Utopia is like nothing ever recorded in the history of human society. It’s up there with unicorns and leprechauns.
“I routinely question, What is it that [Democrats] want America to look like in their perfect government run country?
I often wonder the same thing. If they had absolute power, what legislation would they enact? Single payer for starters. But would business remain in private hands? What would be the minimum wage? What would the maximum tax rate be? Etc.
Maj. Major Major Major: Sergeant, from now on, I don’t want anyone to come in and see me while I’m in my office. Is that clear?
First Sgt. Towser: Yes, sir. What do I say to people who want to come in and see you while you’re in your office?
Maj. Major Major Major: Tell them I’m in and ask them to wait.
First Sgt. Towser: For how long?
Maj. Major Major Major: Until I’ve left.
First Sgt. Towser: And then what do I do with them?
Maj. Major Major Major: I don’t care.
First Sgt. Towser: May I send people in to see you after you’ve left?
Maj. Major Major Major: Yes.
First Sgt. Towser: You won’t be here then, will you?
Maj. Major Major Major: No.
First Sgt. Towser: I see, sir. Will that be all?
Maj. Major Major Major: Also, Sergeant, I don’t want you coming in while I’m in my office asking me if there’s anything you can do for me. Is that clear?
First Sgt. Towser: Yes, sir. When should I come in your office and ask if there’s anything I can do for you?
Maj. Major Major Major: When I’m not there.
A quibble: They almost got their Utopia in Stalin's Russia.
Most libs cannot articulate what their expectations and end game look like. They are not logical or inquisitive thinkers. They are emotional, feel good reactionaries. It is drilled into their head that “Liberal/Democrat” = love the poor, disadvantaged, different, needy, fairness, etc. Conservative/Republican = Selfish, greedy, racist, homophobic, sexist, bigot, hatred....
In that respect, their allegiance to the democrat party has actually evolved into a “VALUE” for them, like a religion. It’s not a joke. In this way liberals have won. Their ideology is based on FAITH and needs no logic. It is not in them to question the hows and whys of their “religious” leaders. And that’s ironic considering most of them will also deny the existence of a god because, well... big bang, multi-universe, etc. (no less faith based theories than god).
Hillary/Barack/Pelosi says $15 minimum wage will help poor people! “GREAT! I BELIEVE THAT TOO AND SUPPORT IT!” The reason conservatives debate each other so often and disagree among ourselves is that we actually think things through and logically draw conclusions and predict results. Those results are measured through our value based character that actually does stem from our Constitution, patriotism, national founding and individual liberty and freedom (and religious faith).
To get through to a liberal, you first have to convince them that their religion is a lie. Democrats don’t care about the poor, the immigrants, the old people, the sick people, the minorities, etc. They care about money and power. They get money and power through political office. They get elected because you vote for them. And they will say and do anything to convince you to vote for them, regardless of how it affects our nation now or in the future.
(I acknowledge a lot of Republican Politicians are no different in this respect)
Perfect!
IOW, no principles.
Not to mention GOP-e still wants them for cheap labor.
