WASHINGTON — Stephen K. Bannon, President Trump’s former chief strategist, was subpoenaed last week by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, to testify before a grand jury as part of the investigation into possible links between Mr. Trump’s associates and Russia, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter.

As long as he uses “magic” words/phrases such as “to the best of my recollection”, “I don’t recall”, “if my memory is correct”, “I’m gong to have to check my records”, etc., he’ll be OK.
Mueller would love to trick Bannon into a faulty memory “perjury trap”.
If Mueller’s investigation really had any merit, Bannon would have been issued a subpoena the day after he left the White House.
But of course. They had nothing. Then Steve spoke. Be prepa red for this to dominate the news cycle for at least 2 weeks, to the exclusion of real news...
I’m sure Bannon’s IQ exceeds Mike Flynn’s IQ by at least 40 points, so I don’t think Bannon is going to fall for any nonsense here.
I keep hearing all the fisa stuff and unmasking will come out soon...Nunes has now seen t hem and said he was shocked at what he saw and found out new stuff he didn’t know...

Particularly ironic because Steve told me in August that he was the “one person” in the administration who had no contacts at all with the Russkies and was safe from being called.
That would have to mean Bannon intends to show up at Capitol Hill today and refuse to say anything.

that dude is untrustworthy. I think there is a genuine risk of bannon turning on trump — either to save his own skin, or just for the hell of it.

Personally I think, at this point, Mueller's entire investigation is meaningless. Whether President Trump gets impeached or not, is going to come down to one thing, and one thing only, which party controls the House after the next election...
Or to put it another way, even if Mueller would clear President Trump of all wrongdoing, a Democrat House is still going to impeach him, even if it's some bogus and meaningless charge like "racism". And on the flip side, even if Mueller presented a laundry list of wrongdoing, a Republican house is going to say, thanks Bobby Boy and file away the report in file 13.

Which Bannon? He apparently has some kind of split personality.
Bannon will have to be prepared to confirm or deny every quote that has been attributed to him in that book -- or maybe explain why the context was totally inaccurate.
Damn right it counts. That's the sh** they pulled on Sessions.
