~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: United States Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, Massachusetts The United States Army Soldier Systems Center (SSC) is a military research complex and installation in Natick, Massachusetts charged by the U.S. Department of Defense with the research and development (including fielding and sustainment) of food, clothing, shelters, airdrop systems, and other servicemember support items for the U.S. military. The SSC includes facilities designed to research and test both materials (textiles, combat rations), advanced technologies and human performance (human research volunteers) under simulated environmental extremes (altitude, heat, cold, wind, etc.). The requirement for improved combat rations has led to groundbreaking developments in the field of food irradiation and freeze-drying techniques. Improved body armor, new military parachuting technology, and enhanced military garments designed for a variety of environments are all ongoing efforts. The objectives of the SSC are:
Develop new technology. Invest in the continuous development and provide quality of life for our workforce. Advance, assess and apply emerging technology. Create a collaborative environment between government, academia and industry on behalf of the Soldier. Some of the units at the SSC include the Installation Management Command, the Clothing and Textile Research Facility, the Natick Army Labs, the Camouflage Evaluation Facility or the Thermal and Flame Laboratory. Learn More About Natick Soldier Systems Center HERE!! FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT~Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. The Power of Prayer
January 16, 2018
Do not stop crying out to the Lord our God for us, that he may rescue us.
1 Samuel 7:8
One day, when I was deeply concerned about the welfare of one close to me, I found encouragement in part of the Old Testament story of Samuel, a wise leader of the Israelites. As I read how Samuel interceded for Gods people as they faced trouble, I strengthened my resolve to pray for the one I loved.
The Israelites faced the threat of the Philistines, who had previously defeated them when Gods people didnt trust in Him (see 1 Samuel 4). After repenting of their sins, they heard that the Philistines were about to attack. This time, however, they asked Samuel to continue praying for them (7:8), and the Lord answered clearly by throwing their enemy into confusion (v. 10). Though the Philistines may have been mightier than the Israelites, the Lord was the strongest of them all.
When we ache over the challenges facing those we love, and fear the situation wont change, we may be tempted to believe that the Lord will not act. But we should never underestimate the power of prayer, for our loving God hears our pleas. We dont know how He will move in response to our petitions, but we know that as our Father He longs for us to embrace His love and to trust in His faithfulness.
Do you have someone you can pray for today?
Father God, the way You hear and answer my prayers amazes me. Strengthen my faith, that I will always believe in Your goodness and love.
Share your prayer request or pray for others at YourDailyBread.org/prayer.
God hears us when we pray.
Samuel led his people to worship of the one true God (1 Samuel 7:16). Prayer was central to Samuels ministry (v. 9); in response to his intercession, God gave the nation victory over the Philistines (vv. 713). To commemorate this God-inspired victory, Samuel erected a remembrance stone he called Ebenezer, which means stone of help. It can also serve as a reminder to us not to underestimate the power of God to respond to our prayers!

The Temps are dropping again so I managed to get a preemptive shower and luxury hair wash in before the drain freezes up again...which I highly suspect it will.
Penny and I drove around for a while yesterday, so the car is out of the ruts, which are now a frozen, bumpy, but hard surface.
I wanted to pave that part of the yard when i first moved in, but couldn’t afford it, so it is what it is.
Penny and I are snuggled up! :-)

Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Hope your weather is cooperating. We are supposed to have rain most of the day tomorrow. *sigh* I hate this up and down weather and I hate rain in the winter.

Howdy, LUV.
Sandstorm AND cold. UGH! I feel for ya.
The front’s heading for us now and if things hold up as they are now, we’ll get a dose of snow this time. With or without it, tomorrow’s and Wed.’s highs will be frigid.
And we all have a lot more winter to get through before Spring dances in. :-(

Hey, there! Yep...the nasty brown sky afternoon again. After having a beautiful cool morning. It’s still blowing and it’s now 32 degrees.
it’s snowing in Ft. Worth, according to a Facebook friend. I am thinking that is the snow y’all will be getting soon...and I hope we don’t! Even though we could use the moisture.

Yuck! I hope you didn’t have to go anywhere today. Can’t be fun getting out in that stuff.
Yes, the snow at Ft. Worth is part of the system bearing down on us.
It was 48 this afternoon when I ran a couple of errands and it’s dropped to 27 at this time. Whatever snow we do get will be here until Thursday. All stocked on food for us and the cats - - and cat litter. LOL - - so it’s good. :-)
