CNN has been hammering President Trump 24/7 since reports that he called Haiti, El Salvador and African nations "s***hole" countries. Multiple anchors, guests and analysts called Trump a racist live on air.
The context makes Chris Cuomo's comment about a White House official on Monday pretty hypocritical. During yet another segment about Trump's "s**hole" comments, the anchor thought it appropriate to mock Indian-American White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah by not even bothering to find out his full name.
We went to the White House when it happened, Raj whatever-his-name-is didnt back off the words, Cuomo said.
Shah kindly informed them that he does indeed have a full name.
.@ChrisCuomo and CNN viewers, it's Raj Shah https://t.co/4kmYYrsHPX via @dailycaller Raj Shah (@RajShah45) January 15, 2018
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders wasn't so kind to the network - especially since they weren't first time offenders. In December, the outlet confused Shah with an Obama administration official.
Last month @CNN put up the wrong picture for WH Principal Deputy Press Secretary @RajShah45 & now they refer to him on air as "Raj whatever his name is." #ThisIsCNN https://t.co/PnkYDqoCpP Sarah Sanders (@PressSec) January 15, 2018
The Washington Free Beacon reported that later in the broadcast, Cuomo still hadn't bothered to find out the last name.
"If the White House wanted to deny the language, they could have done it from jump," Cuomo said. "Raj put out a statement thatwhen asked, he didn't say it was the wrong language."
I thought Shah was Iranian. ;-)

Thats odd. Cuomo can pronounce all the OTHER four letter words.
It’s ok if they say it. It just goes hand in hand with their sickness. They aren’t racist racist like conservatives. ~sarc
CNN can’t be racist because they accuse everyone else of being racist.
Isn’t that how it works?
To be fair, Cuomo might have trouble remembering such a long and complicated name. I mean, “Shah” is, like, a whole syllable. And it’s a really obscure name—merely the third most common Indian surname in America.
(BTW, my 9th-grade class had like 52 students, three of whom were Indian-Americans ... and two of them (who were not related to each other) had the surname “Shah.”)
What a maroon. Even his idiot brother Andrew would have avoided screwing up so badly.
What ever happened to journalistic integrity and research?
Obviously the Crap News Network has no idea what that is.
Yep. Like ‘Shahs of Sunset’. Persian word for ‘king’.
They ruled the areas east of there for centuries. Having a Persian name is considered kind of a status symbol.
It is also a Hindu word aside from being a Persian word. I forget what it means in the Indian languages.
Thanks, but I can’t take credit. That’s Rush’s nickname for him.
:^)
I got a TV and I don’t tune in the Commie News Network.
My Indian name is Nanatatche.
Yeah, it means “He who lost his American-Express card and don’t give a F%^K”
I must have missed it. I know I was tuned into C whatever-their-name-is.
CBN, it was. Didn’t see it...
The most intolerant, bigoted, hateful people are the people who use their keywords such as diversity, co-exist, and preach love not hate.
Only the day on another website all but one of us were saying how the military should not accept cross dressing, and mental illness only for a woman to come on and tell us we should not judge. Once she saw people with an opposing view she lost it, got angry, told us that we are ignorant haters, and then carried on putting down the military, veterans, swear words everyother word and even stated how if people opposed her then their penis must be small etc.
On her website she preaches love, not hate, tolerance etc.,
Total hypocrite, and the sad part is she has so much hate she will never see how radical, or hateful she is.
Hanta yo, Nanatatche!
That translates out to,
Dont look now, but theres a muskrat in your shorts, Nanatatche!
Thanks. Needless to say, my attempt at sarcasm would fall short with him for sure.
Raj is Hindu for “realm” and raja for “king”. Shah is Farsi for “King” or “Ruler”. I worked with a woman whose last name was Jesurajdev, more or less Hindi for “Jesus Kingdom of God.” Her father was an Indian immigrant and a devout Christian.
C'mon, people. Y'all are losing your touch.
