Citing a strain on overwhelmed health resources, Governor Kay Ivey declared an official State of Emergency in Alabama on Thursday due to the rapidly spreading flu epidemic.
WHEREAS the State Health Officer has reported that an outbreak of the influenza virus has occurred in the State of Alabama; and
WHEREAS this outbreak poses a high probability of widespread exposure to an infectious agent that poses significant risk of substantial harm to a large number of people in the affected population; and
WHEREAS the health care facilities and personnel of the State are overwhelmed by the number of ill patients and taxed to such an extent that care of patients may now no longer be provided in the traditional, normal, and customary manner nor is the utilization of traditional, normal, and customary standards of care possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kay Ivey, Governor of the State of Alabama, pursuant to relevant provisions of the Alabama Emergency Management Act of 1955, section 31-9-1 et seq., Code of Alabama (1975), on the recommendation of the State Health Officer, do hereby declare that a State Public Health Emergency exists in the State of Alabama. I direct the appropriate state agencies to exercise their statutory and regulatory authority to assist the communities and entities affected. I also direct the Alabama Department of Public Health and Alabama Emergency Management Agency to seek federal assistance as may be available.

It’s a good read.
OK, what kind of doctor? Internal medicine? Does he treat influenza patients? Does he recommend the holistic approach you outlined over vaccination?
What you posted looks like new-age nonsense to me.
A few days ago, the assisted living center taking care of my elderly 93-year-old mother-in-law called my wife, saying she was suffering from a fever and other flu symptoms and was sickly. Doctor was called, m-i-l was given some aspirin. A couple days later on Friday we took her out to a restaurant for hot won-ton soup, which we do every Friday. Usually she can only eat a third of the bowl. This time, she finished it all and bounced back with energy and is fine now. She always bounces back from illness in short order. Or maybe it’s the won-ton soup. 93 going on 94, going strong.
The last time I had the flu was 37 years ago.
The last time I had a cold was 47 years ago.
I don’t need to ask a doctor what he thinks of that. LOL
I have known about this for weeks. It has hit this area hard ever since the week before Christmas. A friend is a son’s home room mother. The day the class had their Christmas party, she and one other mother were the only parents there and half the class was missing. We have a small company and it has been hard hit. I keep getting FB posts about staying home if you have any symptoms. Do not go to work, school, shopping, church, etc. Just common sense advice. Y’all stay well.
...and your point is?
You not getting sick isn't somehow proof that doctors don't know what they're talking about, if that's what you're getting at.
What’s freepers take on vaporizer with Essential Oils ?
Most of our family went on a trip to Chicago a few days after Christmas. Several started to feel pretty bad that day. The next day we were all down with it. I can’t believe it happened so fast to all of us at once.
I too had a bad chest cold. It hit the week before Christmas and I still have a dry cough, especially when I change my position from horizontal to vertical or vice versa. For several days my lungs crackled like crazy and breathing was a chore. But I don’t believe it was the flu: no fever, no aches, just congestion.
I need to get into reading more.
Sounds like bronchitis..(I’m no medic,I’ve had it,though.)
.
... ... is it just me or do others see an eerie similarity/connection worst pandemic flu virus of record 1918, now fast forward 100 years ... 2018 flu virus.
Would not doubt it. I’ve had bronchitis several times and once walking pneumonia but, to my recollection, I have never had the flu, unless it was so mild I didn’t recognize it. I am 65 now and maybe I have some kind of immunity but I will take precautions this winter.
My doc told me it’s most contagious when the carrier has a fever

I just read a warning this morning to not do this if you have cats. The oils are poisonous to cats.
My g g grandfather and his wife and four of their kids died in the 1918 flu epidemic. All within a few days of each other.
My mom (1914-2012) told me and my 3 siblings that she was sick during that epidemic, and she barely made it.
I think it is contagious for 5-7 days from your first symptom for adults and up to 2 weeks from first symptom for kids.
1918 vs 2018 ... Well at least we have iv fluids and hospitals to keep us alive now.
