The precise extent of human-induced climate change is unclear, but the basic science is unequivocal, as is the danger it poses to the United States. This threat comes from the direct impact of climate change on agricultural production and sea levels but equally importantly from the huge waves of migration that climate change is likely to cause, on a scale that even the worlds richest states and societies will be unable either to prevent or accommodate.
Yet for two out of the past four U.S. administrations, action on this issue has been frozen due to the refusal of a large section of the political establishment and electorate to accept the clear scientific evidence that this threat exists.
The most urgent and important task facing climate change activists in the United States is to persuade the U.S. national security establishment of the mistakenness of this decision. If no serious progress can be made under this administration, then concentrated thought must be dedicated to placing climate change at the heart of the next administrations NSS and of U.S. security thinking in general.
This is because the most promising avenue to convince conservative American voters and to generate genuinely serious action in the United States against climate change would be to firmly establish the link between global warming and critical issues of national security.
The military can play a key part in mobilizing these feelings and turning this struggle into one that unites Americans and reduces the divisions and hatred that are beginning to pose a threat not only to the working of the U.S. political system but even the long-term survival of U.S. democracy. Without this engagement, successful action against climate change will be impossible, and the consequences for the United States and the world will be disastrous.

I wanna be a Climate Ranger...
I didn’t see “climate scientists” in his bona fides.

Live a life of lecturing strangers
Lieven is having difficulty seeing through his European naivete and lack of education on the matter. The U.K. is the only force that can beat climate change. It’s caused by the City of bankers in London, and only they, with their control of all of the wealth of the world and their empire, can solve the problem. If they are unsuccessful, then Europe is clearly at fault.
See? Even a working class U.S. peasant can write that kind of trash to turn Lieven’s nasty, accusatory implications back toward him.
;-)
He's right.
If we send in the US Army to round up and imprison global fraudsters, it would do wonders.
The author comes from the New America Foundation, which is a Soros, Google, Gates ect. funded foundation, so that alone should establish why NOT to listen to him.
And the line he is peddling is one the New America Foundation has been peddling nearly since it’s inception - make “climate change” a “national security” issue.
You can be sure their deep state tentacles are working hard to get as many active senior military folks and active foreign policy folks to internally, in the active military-defense establishment to push this agenda.
Yet, one thing I want to know is among the senior people at the New America Foundation, what is this guy doing at the “Conservative” National Review:

I want to know how the extent of an unequivocal basic science can be unclear.
People are so illiterate these days, you can convince them of anything by throwing word salads at them
I suspect that it isn't the "global fraudsters" this turd wishes to round up and imprison...
Oh, it's clear alright. There isn't a single shred of evidence that human activity has impacted the earth's climate in any way.
Now wait a minute....if the extent is unclear, how can the danger be un-equivocal?
One of the marvels of free speech is that we get to see the fools out in the open.
Anatol Lieven is in the wrong line of work. He could make far more money writing fiction novels than all the effort he spends trolling for research grant money.
