In the altercation, which occurred shortly after takeoff, the male co-pilot allegedly slapped the aircrafts female commander, prompting her to leave the cockpit of the Boeing 777 in tears, according to sources for The Times of India.

“In earlier days Freepers would wait to learn of the facts before rendering approval or criticism.”
They/we/I waited SIX days after the alleged incident before posting the original article, and then in my first comment, posted an update from TODAY.
I’ve posted only about half a dozen articles in my 9+ years here.
Have been more interested in searching beforehand and posting correctly and according to TOS than “waiting” to learn “facts” from Big Media.
Get ahold of yourself!
“Im starting up FAWA (Flight Attendant Wrestling Association).”
I just can’t see male flight attendants rushing to join. :-)
That was a graph I created from existing accepted medical conclusions (I even went to websites dedicated to women’s fitness, just to be sure the people who are likely to disagree would do so, if there was room for them to do so)
I also think it is important to distinguish fitness from strength...even the most fit 110 lb woman will not be able to match the physical strength of a male who is heavier, and the curve doesn’t have fitness on the X axis, it has strength.
Just due to physical differences and testosterone, the asymmetrical bell curve defining men’s strength is going to be by default broader than that defining women, and if the highest degree of female strength is going to be 25% less than the strongest male, that is the end point for the females strength.
As you can guess, I didn’t plot the curves with individual data elements, but scientifically based generalities:
1.) On average, the strongest average male will be stronger than the average female which will put the peak of the men’s curve further to the right than the peak of the women’s average strength.
2.) The average curve for males is going to cover more area (be broader) than females because we have the naturally occurring steroid testosterone, our bones are heavier, and our muscles have more mass and the actual types of muscle cell are (at least to 15%) stronger per cell.
The red hashed area is the area where women will physically be at a disadvantage. In hand to hand combat such as boxing or other martial arts, an equally trained male will best a female both in combat technique and in simple grappling, assuming both know the same self-defense tactics.
Hollywood, would of course, like to portray otherwise.
This is no knock on females, it is fact. I work for and appreciate the dedication and intellect of women, but it is simply stupid to discount the physical differences, which the Left seems bent on doing.
Agreed 100%, good point.
...he should have just given her a good spanking.
The Nanny began in 1991 with a chance meeting on a transatlantic flight between Drescher and Jeff Sagansky, at the time president of CBS Corporation.

The male slapped the female commander of the aircraft, then the commander left in tears and was sobbing in the galley? Really? Then they both left the controls unattended?
Snowflakes on parade. Not even on United would you see this.
Had not seen that, but did a little more searching and found:

GF, not wife.
What was your source?
Has there ever been any Flight-related FR thread that didnt have at least one Airplane reference?
Surely you cant be serious

"Please note in the flight log the date and time of this incident. Record the circumstances. Note that I have assumed, and will retain full control of the aircraft for the duration of the flight."
That is what I expect of a professional, male or female.
Co-pilot named Striker? Was Rex Kramer in the control tower?
Cockpit romances....
There’s nasty joke in there somewhere, but can’t understand why any airline would allow that.
I stopped reading the comments right there.
Nobody in this thread is going to top that.
True AND funny.
That is a fundamental problem right there.
I would not want a husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, or any other variant of that relationship on a flight deck.
If it were known beforehand, shame on the airline for allowing that team to fly.
If not, they should both be grounded.
In India, maybe roast beef.
I hope a drinking problem didn’t crop up...
Remember how the women brought food and lined the street to cheer the first responders on 9-11?
“Male to Female Tranny got a little too frisky?”
That’s the only reason I could envision a 21st century airline to allow pilot/copilot lovers to fly together on duty.
Funny how they’re still refusing to publish names.
Look at how they’ve further confused the issue:
The unnamed female co-pilot’s license has been suspended, The Times of India said. The confrontation reportedly took place soon after the plane took off.
