The only fact you mentioned was that Prohibition occurred during the depression, and that one wasn't entirely accurate either because it ignored the fact that it also occurred during the "roaring twenties" which was an era of amazing economic growth.
The rest of the stuff you mention isn't "facts", it's just your opinion.
BADLY!
VERY BADLY!
Emote all you like, FReind, but the FACTS remain.
Since Nixon declared a “war on drugs” around 1971, over $1T USD has been spent in that effort. $15.6 Billion in 2016. This is in the public record, not “my opinion”.
In the short 10 years between 2003 and 2013, over 100 police officers were killed in WOD related actions. Again, PUBLIC RECORD.
Around $450B USD per year is expended housing WOD criminals in this country. (Public Record)
Comprehensive Crime Control act of 1984. Greatly expanded “Criminal Asset Forfeiture”. (Government Police Powers)
— Simply a fact, without regard to your feels.
If you’d like to take exception to anything else I’ve posted, come equipped with facts and data or move on to some other poster who’s willing to entertain your nonsensical sputtering.
These are LEGAL purchases ideal for:
Firefighters, Boy Scout Leaders, Police, Truck drivers, Military, Attorneys, Senior Caregivers, Engineers, Daycare workers, Pilots, Journalists, Pedophiles, Priests, Rabbis, Reporters, Politicians, City and County Employees, Mariners (not you, specifically)...
;)
Don't bother with facts. Irrelevant.
I’m not “pro-pot”... Don’t make that mistake.
I’m pro-individual-freedom and anti-unconstitutional- government-intrusion.
I may find myself aligned with the marijuana legalists, but I personally wouldn’t use it.
I do think that a neutron bomb might be a bit of an overreaction either way.
Yup. Oregon State Police caught a couple of H’mong that flew to NV, entered CA, and drove up through OR with 200 lbs of weed , on the way back to MN. Estimates are that OR overproduced 1.8 million pounds, last year. Apparently, overproduction isn’t even a possibility in CA.
Diving into and swimming in money, or, in this case, weed.
Oregon has moved to de-felonize hard drugs, in an attempt to treat abusers.
“Apparently, overproduction isnt even a possibility in CA.”
No matter how much is grown in CA, the state has no idea how much of it is legal, nor which batch is legal.
All they know is which GROW is legal.
Once it’s trimmed buds they state has no idea where it came from. It’s fungible.
Confusing matter further, medical co-ops can continue to grow up to six plants for every member of the co-op...in very, very large grows. That weed goes to the very same retail outlets as the “recreational” weed.
And with cops not being able to search a car or truck because they smell raw pot, it moves freely throughout the state. But they most definitely WILL search if they smell burnt pot.
So, people in the business here, if they are able to refrain from smoking during transport, move and sell pot by the ton. All cash. Blackmarket, legal, doesn’t matter.
Like I said, nothing changes.
Most of Oregon’s problems seem to stem from a lack of funds ( or will) to enforce laws against illegal grows.
Those statements might be true, but they do not however support your conclusions. We spent 21 trillion on the War on Poverty since then, and it has a lot more to do with the increase in drugs and crime than does the "war on drugs."
In the short 10 years between 2003 and 2013, over 100 police officers were killed in WOD related actions. Again, PUBLIC RECORD.
And again, not proof of your conclusions.

"Facts" which do not actually prove your case are a form of fallacy argument. Yes, your facts might be true, but that doesn't make your assertion true.
One of our earliest friends, when we moved to California in 1971 had this crazy SIL, who wanted to make surf boards and sell them. They backed him and his surf boards were successful and helped to start a huge growth in the Cali and world wide Surfing world.
Another family had two sons drop out of college and start making and selling skateboards. They are doing great and making more money than their Ivy league Dad.
They aren’t “treating” them.
They are enabling them.
Soros’ Narco Nation.

"Just exactly the way it happened with repeal of prohibition, right? The great depression happened during the prohibition era. Billions of dollars and untold lives have been wasted in the war on pot, to little effect beyond expanding government police powers. These are facts. Make of them what you will.
What conclusions do my FACTS not support (You arrogant twit)? What assertions have I made, that I did not subsequently support?
This is the post (of yours) that I responded to with supporting evidence

Support your arguments.
Love ya,

I’m sure that some of them want to quit.
Thanks for the ping.
I’m happy for the people of California that cannabis is legal for those who wish to use it.
Heck,,,,back in the 70’s you could buy a bag of weed..for $10-$15....
Just learned there’s a $9.25 per oz excise tax on homegrown. That should tap the brakes a bit.
Yeah...and we voted for Prop’s all the time in Calif....only to have the 9th District Court overrule....the will of the people.
