IRAN may be the brink of a “revolution” amid violent clashes between riot police and protestors, an opposition group in exile has claimed.
Tear gas, water cannons and riot cops armed with clubs have been deployed today to streets of the Iranian capital as thousands of protests took to the streets.
Protests over unemployment and food prices quickly spiralled into widespread calls for the collapse of the ruling Islamic regime.
Videos and pictures erupted on social media from the tightly controlled state showing protests and violence amid chants of “death to the dictator”.
And now the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) has outright called for revolution while speaking to Daily Star Online.

Who is the leader of these protests? They had Khomeini, who is the “Khomeini” of this revolution? You’d better have one if you want it to succeed.

Would really be strange if the DPRK had a similar event.
Obama refused to interfere in Iran before when the good people were rioting. Now that President Trump is in charge let’s see what happens. Let us not forget that a lot is going on in the Middle East with big changes in Saudi Arabia for openers. 2018 could be an interesting year at home and abroad.
Last time they tried it Obama threw them all under the bus. This time Trump would have their backs.
At the time Obama was involved in his "Arab Spring" designed to remove pro-western moderate secular governments (Egypt, etc.) and install radical Islamic governments (Muslim Brotherhood). Supporting a pro-democracy revolt in Iran was the last thing he would have done.

We’ve heard that before. Once the bloodlust of the basijis fires up, this insurrection - assuming no direct outside help is forthcoming - will be put down.

Trump will not intervene directly. All efforts will be through a third party.
