Democrats are fooling themselves about how the tax cut will play out
NY Post ^ | Dec 24, 2017 | David Harsanyi

According to political analysts, 2018 Democrats will use the just-passed tax reform as a way to argue that the Republican Party is the party of the plutocracy, which is another way of saying that Democrats are going to use the same argument they’ve been using for the past three decades with varying degrees of success. A number of liberals have claimed that the passage of “unpopular” tax reform is historically analogous to the passage of Obamacare, which triggered the loss of hundreds of Democrat seats and, perhaps, control of the presidency.

MORE ON: TAX REFORMS Trump tells Mar-a-Lago guests: 'You all just got a lot richer' The movement to impeach Trump is just beginning Rate hikes have negative impacts on the economy What to expect from the GOP tax bill roll out This is wishful thinking for a number of reasons.

Yes, the tax bill is unpopular. Then again, I’m not sure you’ve noticed that everything Washington, D.C., tries to do is unpopular. Nothing polls well. Not the president. Not Congress. Not Democrats. Not legislation. Not even erstwhile popular vote-winning candidates. Certainly, a bill being bombarded with hysterical end-of-the-world claims that are rarely debunked by the political media is not going to be popular. Republicans won’t pass anything if they wait around for things to be popular.

However — apologies to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi — they can be somewhat content knowing that voters will probably like it once they find out what’s in it..

There are a few tax calculators out there and first reviews are pretty positive. Who cares what the Democrats think? Let them run on higher taxes and bigger government in 2018.

I think the DEMs know damn well what the tax cuts will do for most Americans. But if there is a way for a political party with the help of Soros and the MSM to talk the country into a recession, the DEMs will attempt it.

Stand by for heart-wrenching commercials with a concerned-faced spokeswoman pleading with you that the tax cuts mean no holistic art projects for indigenous peoples. NONE!

Do not accept the lie that the tax cut is unpopular.

When the average Joe ends up with a couple of thousand dollars more of take home pay, try explain to him that he is looting the treasury and needs to give it back and pay more.
Run on that, rats.

A number of liberals have claimed that the passage of “unpopular” tax reform is historically analogous to the passage of Obamacare, which triggered the loss of hundreds of Democrat seats and, perhaps, control of the presidency.

They have a good analogy: The democrats said we had to buy insurance we don't want and that we would have to lose our doctor and our old insurance, even though we liked them. They suffered at the polls because no one liked that punishment. Now the republicans are saying we have to keep our own money and spend the money we earned however we want. What voter likes to hear that?

Democrats are fooling themselves about how the tax cut will play out on everything

Fixed. The Democrats, including their lackeys in Hollywood and the Liberal Media, are in a continuous delusional state.

We’ve already seen the return of homelessness and hunger, which disappeared for 8 years.

During good times, Democrats fool themselves.

During bad times, Democrats fool a voting majority.

I hear these analysts on TV scoff at “only a couple of hundred dollars a month” tax break for working families. Clearly they’ve never had to pawn something to buy gas to get to work. They have no conception that a couple hundred a month is a lot if you are barely getting by paycheck to paycheck.

To paraphrase that great Democrat Party philosopher Chelsea Clinton: "I really tried, but I just couldn't bring myself to care about a few hundred dollars a month."

A couple of hundred a month could help fund a retirement account for those who have yet to start one, or who have neglected their account because of bills.

They are not kidding themselves - they are just brazenly trying to to mislead as many others as they can, to minimize the political impact.

They spin full time, and explicitly, consciously, disregard objective truth - their only concern is to manipulate opinion as much as possible to favor their political power.

Even if they can only shave one percent off of the polls, it is their job to work it full time. Full time liars - utterly shameless.
