Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has been admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for recovery from the side effects of another round of treatment for brain cancer, according to his office.
McCain, who missed a third straight day of Senate votes Wednesday, has been undergoing rounds of chemotherapy and radiation to treat glioblastoma, the terminal form of brain cancer he was diagnosed with in July. McCain has been undergoing treatments since early September at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, next to Walter Reed.
Two friends close to McCain, requesting anonymity to speak about his condition, said there were no plans for the senator to resign. In a statement issued from his office, McCain hopes to return to work as soon as possible.
Republican leaders expect to hold a vote early next week on the sweeping tax-cut plan that is currently in a House-Senate negotiation. The Senate version initially passed with 51 votes. If McCain missed the vote on final passage, Republicans would not be able to afford a single additional defection or absence to pass the legislation.

I don’t recall AZ ever having a special election for the Senate, but maybe they have.
Ahh..... well that’s a relief.
I thought he was back in Arizona.
He can rise up and go forth in a wheel chair to vote
Your welcomed BT. When this thing breaks if Sundance is correct, it will make Watergate look like a J-Walking ticket...
The list is burning a hole in his desk drawer
The date is prior to February 19 so you made a good choice
1. Spite Trump
2. Has nothing else to hold on to
Both are sad and pathetic - prayers for him are in order no matter what we think of him.
“When is he going to retire so that the critical senate business can be done?”
Real greats like the immortal Joe Louis or Rocky Marciano knew when their best days were behind them and hung up their gloves. This jagoff is not a real great.
Honestly, why wouldn’t he just go home to AZ?
Great minds think alike. I’ve been saying this since he was diagnosed.
“Both are sad and pathetic - prayers for him are in order no matter what we think of him.”
May God reward him with all he deserves.
Oh, and a prayer for all the liquidated and the displaced Syrian and Slavic Christians. Hope things work out OK for them.
How much you want to bet he’ll be too ill to vote next week and it’ll get kicked to January?
“Just more fake health issues to cover for political problems. The last time the ethics vultures were circling, Songbird appeared in a leg cast that accidentally switched legs. Now that his involvement in the dossier is again coming under scrutiny, he is plying health as cover in exchange for sympathy.”
You’ve inspired me to change my tagline again.
Is this turd still in the punch bowl??
Love your new tagline!
They have brought people in on stretchers to vote.
I suspect he is negotiating with John and Mitch no sense letting the deplorables have a voice.
That pill costs Fifty bucks, no way he is paying for it.
Has anyone noticed they can give our elderly a $50.00 suicide pill but some how can't come of with a cheap execution drug cocktail that works?
Well done!
Yes, he is an unrepentant Scrooge and refuses to believe his Christmas future.
I am attempting to summon the sympathy required of me as a human being. May Gd forgive me.
