Sen. John McCain was admitted Wednesday to Walter Reed Hospital for "normal side effects" of his cancer treatments, his office said in a statement. "As ever, he remains grateful to his physicians for their excellent care, and his friends and supporters for their encouragement and good wishes," the statement said.
McCain is currently receiving treatment for glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. The 80-year-old was diagnosed in July.
In an interview with Lesley Stahl for "60 Minutes" in September, McCain spoke about facing the tough diagnosis. "They said that the prognosis is very, very serious. Some say 3 percent, some say 14 percent. You know, it's -- it's a very poor prognosis," he said. "So I just said, 'I understand. Now we're going to do what we can, get the best doctors we can find and do the best we can.' And at the same time celebrate with gratitude a life well lived."
Earlier Wednesday, McCain's daughter, Meghan, a co-host of "The View," grew tearful as she interviewed former Vice President Joe Biden, whose son Beau died from glioblastoma in 2015.
"There's a lot of things happening," Biden told Meghan McCain. "There's breakthroughs occurring now ... It could happen."

I wish John McCain health but it is rare that one wins against glioblastoma.
His actions in war and as a prisoner were most noble despite what many say. You can break anyone with time and torture. He was and is a hero. He was without doubt a man of honor that I could only hope to equal. I do not think I could.
He paid heavily as a prisoner. He was singled out for particularly brutal treatment due to the fact his father commanded the Naval Forces in the Pacific during the Vietnam War.
I will not miss him as Senator McCain though I wish his absence was not due to glioblastoma. I just wish he had retired with honor years ago.

Generally one isn’t Hospitalized for ‘Normal” side affects from cancer treatment..... Your overall health and fitness will affect how your body reacts, at 80 yrs. old his body isn’t exactly in prime shape.......further glioblastoma, involving the central nervous system type tumor, is quite an fast spreading and deadliest form of brain cancer.
My mom never had seizures. It affected her mobility and then finally got to the point where she was delusional.

That would be my guess....Too, his daughter was distressed on the View ... it’s difficult seeing some one go through these treatments let alone the nature of how the diseased tissues affects the brain.

Thanks. I saw my mom through breast cancer treatment. She was never hospitalized til almost her time to go. I went through full breast cancer treatment ,chemo, and radiation, and was never hospitalized.
I’d be surprised if he comes out before he dies.
