Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

Thats WAY premature. I dont think Roy wins this. Combination of GOPe thuggery and democratic vote turn out machine kills him.
Makes me worried about 2018..if Jones wins tonight in a freakin RED state..what does that say for 2018
Not much. Trump was a historic aberration. When one party fights win and the other doesn’t guess who wins?
Gosh I hope you’re right.
I have ZERO I repeat ZERO respect for ANY Republican who can vote for a baby murderer
If Jones wins, our nation will have moved even more towards the precipice.
Some kind of (Divine) judgment is coming at some point, and it will be terrifying, to put it mildly.
Yep!
Roy Moore leads by 6 percentage points over Doug Jones with 54 percent of precincts fully reporting.
Listening to radio coverage, they are reporting that rural precincts not yet reporting and the black turnout was not has high as desired by democrats.
ABC news radio.
They are all but calling it for Moore.
Votes | Rounded % |
||
Moore | Rep | 301,962 | 52 |
Jones | Dem | 266,985 | 47 |
54% reporting (1,209 of 2,220 precincts)
My understanding is that the counties with the most uncounted ballots are expected to go for Jones. I’ve also heard that some of the counties expected to go for Moore are reporting lower than expected voter turnouts.
Dems made sure every black in the big city was taken to the polls. Whites stayed home. Dems looked to have out smarted the GOP again. Anyone who thinks the dems didn’t know about these sexual misconduct charges during the fight between Moore & Strange is a moron. They wanted Moore to win the nomination, then they would hit him hard with this trumped up sex scandal.
Jones is losing his advantage.
Roy Moore leads by 7 percentage points over Doug Jones with 56 percent of precincts fully reporting.
Roy Moore Republican 308,911 52.7%
Doug Jones Democrat 269,232 45.9
ABC News calling it for Moore, while the freakin SLIMES calls it for Jones I Just dont get it
How many years younger than he is, is his wife?
Did the voters even know he supports abortion for the entire 9 months of pregnancy? That is the most evil position one could take.
BIG jump for Moore +35,000 (6%) with 54% in
I rent the cheapest internet (which means slowest) and my computer updates quickly. Have you defragmented your hard drive? Have you cleaned your Registry? Have you run CCleaner? Doing those 3 steps keeps my 8 year old used Acer notebook running good.
what time was this ABC radio report?
