Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

Wolf said “Where is the good news for Hillary?”
King said “There is none, Wolf.”
That’s how I remember it.
75% chance now
Times has Jones up to 75% chance of winning. So not good.
Im smelling fraud...these results are not making sense
I’m smelling one party fighting an election tooth and nail and the other party surrendering it.
Why the hell would they be saying that makes NO sense
It must be the “minorities” in Birmingham who swing the election to Jones. NYT is saying its nearly over for Jones.
Roy Moore leads by 5 percentage points over Doug Jones with 39 percent of precincts fully reporting.
Moore up 19,000 with 35% in, 5.5% lead
I just hope this thing is decided before I go to bed.
The Times is full of it https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/12/live-results-alabama-senate-special-election-roy-moore-doug-jones/548186/
Nearly over for Moore, with Jones having a 75 percent chane of victory.
Remember democrats don’t turn in their final tally until they figure out how many votes they need to win.
Although they came out solidly for Trump in 2016, those NW Alabama areas often favor squishy establishment type Republicans over true conservatives. Their support for Moore will likely deviate a good bit from the margins they gave Trump.
It’s over, Moore won easily. Anyone want to bet? 20 bucks, I’ll pay via pay pal.
NYT is saying Jones is going to win.
Reading online that the red counties have NOT come in yet
Moore now up 23,500 with 37% in (6% lead)

politico has pretty uptodate results
About 413,000 votes have been counted already. Mr. Moore leads in that count by 5.3 points.
Then why is the NYT saying Jones is going to win?
