Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

At least it wasn’t Ted Kennedy.
Fox showed 75% Jones 25% Moore out of the gate with 1% reporting. Then 51% to 48% with 1% reporting. Now, 58% Jones, 41% Moore., 1% reporting....
Fix is in. How do we beat this?
Driving into Alabama on the freeways, all of the welcome signs already have it on them.

Chill, my friend.
Run better candidates?
ah yes I remember it well....made me tune out and watch a John Wayne movie and then I went to bed.....I couldn’t sleep very well and woke up around 3 and decided to find out what happened and was just in time to see Trump make his acceptance speech....good times.
Expected turnout is somewhere around 1.3 million.
Jones keeping a steady lead as returns come in. It’s very early but not a good trend.
Probably urban areas or college areas
Dont get it.Moore pretty much wins every single exit poll yet he’s trailing by SO much
Actually, one judge ruled in favor of the digital ballots being preserved.
The Alabama Supreme Court issued a stay against that ruling, which is probably best.
The digital ballots can be hacked and manipulated, the paper ballots can not.
Thanks for posting the NY Slimes charts. They are ahead of the Alabama results.
I did appreciate the link. Thanks.
Don’t remember now if I thanked you or not.
NYT still 50/50 on the outcome.
