A Pentagon official tells The Associated Press that transgender people can enlist in the military beginning Jan. 1, despite President Donald Trump's opposition.
The new policy reflects growing legal pressure on the issue and the difficult hurdles the federal government would have to cross to enforce Trump's demand to ban transgender individuals from the military. Two federal courts already have ruled against the ban.
Potential transgender recruits will have to overcome a lengthy and strict set of physical, medical and mental conditions that make it possible, though difficult, for them to join the armed services.
Maj. David Eastburn says the enlistment of transgender recruits will start Jan. 1 and go on amid the legal battles. The Department of Defense also is studying the issue.

So it isn’t much of a surprise that this person would be the spokesman on this issue. I have never, in a million years, been able to understand liberal military personnel, but he appears to be a full blown Trump-Hater and advocate of homosexuality in the military.
Trump needs to start firing General Officers. The entire top brass are all Obama appointees and need to be replaced with REAL General Officer material, not the ones who go along with the leftist idea that the military is a social experiment playground. I spent 24 years in the military, the last three under Clinton. The best days for service members during my career were the Reagan years and the worse were the Clinton years. If I were in the service now I would get out and if I were a young guy thinking about joining I would just forget about it. Regardless of how hard they have tried to convence us the homosexuality is normal most of us know it is not. While many hide it to keep from being called names like homophobe they keep it to themselves that they know it is a perversion. If it does not change the only way normal straights will joint the military will be by a draft. God help this country if we ever have to go into a real war with a cadre of poofs leading the charge.

To be fair, I am going to assume this person is some kind of spokesman. He isn’t setting policy. But like roaches and rats, if you see one on the surface or in the light who isn’t afraid to be an advocate, you can be sure there are thousands who are working behind the scenes.

Yes, DoD has been infiltrated by feminists, communists, and sick perverts that started in the late seventies and hit its stride post 9-11- ALL sanctioned and protected by senior military officers and lawyers within their ranks. The culture has mutated into a mess.

TADSLOS, I am conflicted by this in so many ways.
I don’t wish to malign someone who has served my country in the military, but...at some point when certain actions are evaluated, I have reached the conclusion that there are people in the military who are NOT serving the interests of our country.
I have further progressed over time to think that being a liberal Democrat and serving honorably in the military are mutually exclusive, in much the same way I see being a communist/marxist and serving honorably in the military as mutually exclusive.
I hate feeling that way, but as someone who has pondered this extensively for years, it has become nearly inescapable to me.
Which is disturbing.
