One of the women accusing Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore of assaulting her as a teenager said on Friday she added the date and venue to an inscription from Moore in her high school yearbook, prompting attacks on her credibility and the competence of her lawyer, Gloria Allred. Many conservatives accused the attorney of mishandling the situation and claimed she'd essentially handed victory to Moore just four days before the election.
Beverly Young Nelson told ABC News she amended an inscription from Moore in her high school yearbook, adding the date and location. Nelson maintained the rest of the note was written by Moore, though he and his lawyers have repeatedly stated he did not sign the yearbook. The inscription states: "To a sweeter more beautiful girl I could not say Merry Christmas. Christmas 1977. Love, Roy Moore, DA. 12-22-77 Olde Hickory House."
In November, Nelson claimed Moore attempted to force her to perform a sex act when she was a teenager in the 1970s and he was the deputy district attorney of Etowah County and in his 30s. She offered the yearbook inscription as evidence to bolster her accusation. At the time, Nelson and her lawyer, Allred, said the inscription was written by Moore and did not mention that Nelson had added the date and location. But Nelson's acknowledgement she wrote part of the note somewhat contradicts that. Some have since claimed Nelson admitted she "forged" the inscription, but this is not the case.
Allred held a press conference on Friday and brought a report from forensic document expert that said the note and signature were written by Moore and said the date and location were written by Nelson to "remind herself who Roy Moore was." It was not clear from her comments when Nelson made those additions.

No, he will win because Alabamans know that he is a decent man being smeared by the left. His opponent is part of the left. What Gloria is doing helps bring the whole thing into focus.
IF (if) he dated girls in 1977, the creditable ones aren’t indicating he did much more than 1950s type heavy petting. (What was Attorney General of Arkansas doing with his women in 1977?) Judge Moore got married and was a straight arrow after that.
Previous discussion.

Sean chose poorly.
A most excellent observation!
They’re not admitting she added the “DA”, huh.
Judge Moore will probably win but the thing that I take away from this is how many Dems have fallen as a result of this smear campaign.
It gets more interesting from here on.
When this smear campaign was originally planned, Beverly Young Nelson was probably told she’d only have to face the public in carefully-controlled press conferences where Gloria Allred would do all the talking.
But if Roy Moore wins on Tuesday and Dems insist on having their Ethics Committee meeting before he can get into the Senate, BYN suddenly has to go under a full public Congressional grilling (with the CNN cameras rolling) with no shielding from Allred or a sympathetic Media .... she probably didn’t bargain on this, just the mere accusation of “child molester” was supposed to torpedo Roy Moore long ago .... plus Republicans can then demand to scientifically examine the fake yearbook ....
The is gonna explode in the Democrats’ faces and it will be beautiful ....
The day after Moore wins, Al Franken will rescind his proposed resignation so he can “continue the fight for justice for the victims of Republican abuse.” :)
Your assuming the Rinos will actually defend Moore.
I’m not so sure.
Not only would an analysis of the inks be pertinent, but an analysis of Nelson’s handwriting. The implication now is that she added the notes back in high school. Handwriting changes over time. I recognize my handwriting from back in the day as mine, but I don’t think I would be capable of faking my own handwriting from decades ago. I doubt that Nelson’s added notes look like they did on the yearbooks she signed of her classmates, or where she signed her own name on her yearbook. I expect that even as she attempted to fake the autograph and notes, they will look suspiciously like her own current handwriting.
Adding the inscription isn't forgery. Adding "Moore" at the end is. That's why nobody is pressing her on how much exactly she added.
It has been reported that Ms. Nelson had a case before Judge Moore at some time, and that it was dismissed. She would have a copy of the Ruling.
As is common practice, an assistant or legal clerk would sign or stamp the rulings, but to distinguish them from an original signature they put their initials after the signature. His Clerk was named, I think, Darla Adams, D.A. In 1977 he was an ADA.
I do believe that will be the scenario!
I sent mail to one of my senators and my congressman telling them if Moore is attacked by the GOP in the Senate on that day I will go down and register Independent. Also not a dime ever if this happens.
Note the different angles of the lines of writing on each side of that yellow line.
Saw a pic last night where someone had drawn straight lines under them.
That’s what sealed it for me, even moreso than the ink
One person put it to me like this: “I’d rather vote for a guy that kissed a girl, than vote for a guy who is ok with murdering a girl in the womb.
And the handwriting expert has taken back his “expertise” after it came to light she forged at least part of it.
I suspect that you will soon have a few extra dollars in your pocket.
Another thing that hurt Doug Jones was al.com running the prominent article with the drag queen attacking Roy Moore.
That’s when I felt the tide starting to turn.
They are SO tone deaf at that failing newspaper.
Their alleged lesbian editor is driving it out of business. Only SEC football keeps the doors open now.
Yeah. Hannity didn’t do himself and favors but neither did Moore when he came on the show and provided some poor answers. But, yeah Hannity jumped the gun.
