So-called “fact-checking” websites have objected to Breitbart News’ use of the term “forgery” to describe the yearbook that Roy Moore accuser Beverly Young Nelson and her lawyer, Gloria Allred, have used in attempting to corroborate Nelson’s allegation that Moore sexually assaulted her some 40 years ago.
Politifact labeled the claim “Pants on Fire,” and Facebook has even attached a pop-up warning to a Breitbart article about the alleged forgery.
On Friday, Nelson admitted that she had added “notes” to an inscription that she claimed Moore made in her high school yearbook. She still claims that Moore signed the yearbook, but admitted that some of the writing was hers.
That is textbook forgery.
Black’s Law Dictionary defines “forgery” as follows (original emphasis):
forgery, n. 1. The act of fraudulently making a false document or altering a real one to be used as if genuine … 2. A false or altered document made to look genuine by someone with the intent to deceive … 3. Under the Model Penal Code, the act of fraudulently altering, authenticating, issuing, or transferring a writing without appropriate authorization.
Note that forgery includes altering a real document. It does not matter if part of the document — say, the signature — is real. If any part of the document is altered and presented as original and authentic, it is a forgery and the entire document is legally useless — or worse than useless, since it impeaches the credibility of the person presenting it.

I think Politifact must employ some former FBI agents.
If/when Gloria Allread is involved, ya’ know it’s suspect at best, and bogus for sure.
She has too many people protecting her.
JUDGE Roy Moore should sue the living crap out of them.
She should be behind bars.

Why hasn’t ALL-RED been disbarred??
If his signature is real, it only proves that a waitress got one of her regulars to sign her yearbook. It proves no wrongdoing on his part, in fact, it proves she had some level of fondness for him.
Now, later, when he ruled against her in her divorce, if she had some kind of prior grudge against him, you’d think she would have mentioned it then. She might have told her lawyer and got another hearing with another judge. She didn’t, so it appears her grudge does not date from her waitressing days.
Who was her real boyfriend at the time?
Where's her husband on this, children?
Which part is “notes”? If it is all the portion written when using the different-composition ink, then she FORGED the ‘Moore’ and ‘D.A.’!
Roy Moore ought to sue both of them for a large 7 figure settlement.
It is run by the Tampa Bay Times and is pretty liberal and that is giving them the benefit of a doubt.
Maybe this is the reason she admitted to doing it. He may have threatened to sue her sorry ass if she didn't.
Moore did not rule against her in her divorce...They reconciled and he closed the case. That’s the document she has. She would not have gone to court...the attorney took care of it. It’s just paperwork.
It will probably take a little while but I don't see how the bar continues to allow her to practice law. Lawyers struggle with optics to begin with and having her out there pulling stunts like this is a pox on all of them.
I think this women now admitting she forged the document is an attempt by Allred to save her law license. Allred can try to say she did not know but how does she explain declining to let the yearbook be examined? The only reason to do that is if you know the signing is fake.
This is a crime that needs to be prosecuted by the DA. Allred and her client were meddling in this election. Both can't be allowed to just walk away.
How ? She isn't practicing law in the state this incident is involved in. I don't think she has a license in that state.
I also think she added 1977....kinda redundant.
Why isnt Alled under arrest?
