A Time for War: The Gathering Storm
The American Thinker ^ | 12/08/17 | David Prentice

Posted on 12/08/2017 7:25:49 AM PST by pgkdan

Most everyone entrenched on both sides of this cold civil war feels it coming. The thunder and lightning have been getting closer. For the better part of a year, we’ve been listening to the noise getting louder, and the flashes, good Lord, sometimes they get brighter by the minute. Many think the storm started on Nov. 9, 2016. Whichever, we all feel it.

This past weekend was a perfect example. Brian Ross starts a series of false reports, so bad that the stock market dives, the leftist media breathlessly reports that President Trump is finished, and do their version of a happy dance. Except, the report was not true, the networks once again proved to be unworthy sources of news, just repeating a false narrative.

Then the tax plan surprisingly passed the Senate. The left, as usual, had a collective hissy fit, droning on about how lost we are as a country. Oh, the horror! Tax cuts!! We’re doomed!!! Doomed they say!!!! For the first time in decades the Democratic Party is pretending to be concerned about our debt.

I was talking to my brother earlier, and we were commenting on how Trump and Reagan are the only two votes we were fully proud of.

I envy you. All six of my siblings are libs.

My two sisters are libs, one of them who is very nice, the other who is a shrieking lefty nutjob.

My brother is a PHD whose first job ever (in his thirties) was being appointed to work in the US Department of Agriculture in DC.......by Jimmy Carter. Having my own construction business, I became the black sheep of the family, a dratted Reagan conservative!! I told my brother how Reagan had convinced me to support him, and he scoffed. Three months after Reagan became President, my brother turned right. Three years later, he joined me in being to the right of Attila the Hun.......:-)

He has stories about the insanity of working in the DC bureaucracy that would turn your stomach. Years later, we're friends, as well as companions in arms. He joined the Trump train early on as well.

I’m very glad for you Lakeshark.

I know that makes you happy, and so it does me too.

It's great to see so many things going well. In spite of the crap every day in the leftist media, since Reagan, we haven't had such positive, constructive, and awesome times.

Trump is amazing. He makes me feel good about our future. Not because of some vague hero worship thing, but because he's doing so much (at the same time) to really change the course of history in the right direction.

Like Windflier said. Best President Ever!

I agree with your take on things.

He tells you right where he stands on things. Then he follows through trying to do exactly what he told you he would.

If it were all up to him, he would already have accomplished all that he promised.

I can’t help but respect him.

His tweets don’t bother me a bit either.

Agreed.

I'm not a Twitter guy, but he's using that site really effectively. It keeps us all engaged, and he tells us what he's doing and where he's at. It gets his message out, unfiltered.

I couldn't care less if he offends a few people with them. Plus, most of the people he offends, really deserve it....:-)

——Trump uses the storm-—

At the root, Trump is the storm

The enemy is literally falling apart and is unable to assemble sufficient divisions for a real war.

The most likely events are beserk urban black burning the cities

Jerusalem so clearly illustrates his center. He is determined to keep his word. I admire that.

Supporters like Ann Coulter who say he hasn’t built the wall fail to acknowledge that he’d do it in a heartbeat if Congress would just appropriate the money

4runner,

Coulter can sometimes be a little fickle and flighty. She's okay, just goes all ADHD on us at times.

I read that border crossings are down to a forty year low! Amazing. And this without the wall, which he's going to build. You're right about him wanting to keep his promises.

Plus we know he's deporting a lot of bad actors, breaking up MS 13, and attacking chain migration.

Since Reagan, we haven't had this kind of accomplishment. It's an incredible time.

Too many second-guessers and idle thumb-twirlers on this website. You are not qualified to edit my comments. I wrote what I believed needed to be written. Go to hell. Write your own damn commentary, instead of trying to act like you know better and are some kind of editor on FR. The internet was created to free us from the shackles of people just like YOU, who just can’t resist telling everyone else what they should be reading, writing, and thinking.

Amplification is not really editing.

Amplification indicates basic agreement and is not thumb twirling

Trump will no longer be president in approximately 7 years. The incoming president will not enforce the border ss Trump has done. A wall, otoh, will last a century or more.

I'm pretty sure he's going to build the wall. He said it again last night. I gather they have prototype study going on, plus some funding, it's a promise he intends to keep.

My comments on how well it's going with illegals in comparison to our last few decades weren't intended to mean I thought he wasn't going to build it.

I didn’t take them that way. I was actually thinking of Ann Coulter on Lou Dobbs the other day, iirc, repeating that the wall would outlast Trump.

That has been said on FR for months.

But you are a long time FRiend, and I give you great latitude. For years now. You’ve always made sense and have been more than friendly.
