Administrative employees are nominally subject to the control of those appointed by politicians who have won elections, but Democrats embedded in the federal bureaucracy have proclaimed themselves part of the “resistance” to President Trump, and are using their positions to undermine his administration. Bureaucrats thus frustrate the will of the voters. President Trump has been in office for nearly a year, and has yet to take control over the federal bureaucracy that nominally reports to him.
I agree with Professor Barnett that this is a constitutional crisis. The most powerful branch of today’s government is the Fourth: the permanent federal bureaucracy that is nowhere mentioned in the Constitution. The Trump administration can best be viewed, perhaps, as a struggle to the death between American voters and the federal employees who are paid to serve them.

Rhetorical? Not by me. I’ve often thought that the first of many American enemies that would be taken down in a Civil War would be the media.
Take out their newsrooms and their ability to lie and get their Fake News out, and this country could be saved.

Our military has learned over the years how to deal with asymetric warfare and block by block incursions in cities.
I do not think our government would be as bound by some Pentagon lawyers’ rules of engagement in the Homeland as they are overseas.

Obama does not run NSA.
Admiral Mike Rogers is in charge of NSA and our military Cyber Command.
He is the brave Admiral who went to President Elect Trump to warn him about the CIA/Brennan and Clapper the cyber thug.
Brennan and Clapper tried to derail President Trump from appointing Admiral Rogers. They failed.
It is a safe bet that Admiral Rogers has been cleaning and getting rid of the Clinton/Bush/Obama thugs left in that agency.

I am not asking the question to be snarky. God help me, I have given this some very serious thought. I may...in my lifetime...have to answer the “to shoot or not to shoot” question myself.
I subscribe to Romans 13, which says that our governments are put in place by God. I believe the American revolution was morally correct because our LOCAL elected government (the Founding Fathers) were urging the fight against the king for our best interests.
What I am struggling with is what that would look like, today. If....say....I am going hunting for Charlie Rose and Matt Lauer types, it would be wrong to just go off on my own and start shooting. Under whose authority?
Does this make any sense? I am trying to resolve a moral issue before I go to war with a shadowy enemy like the “deep state.”

They think we will sit by and let it happen. They don’t expect any consequences. They would be in for a surprise.
Yes they are trying to overthrow an elected President and I hope each and every one of them has their career ruined, is financially ruined, and is stripped of any pension benefits.
The employees of federal agencies need to understand that bringing partisan politics into civil service will destroy them.

I get that question. I do. I strongly suspect there will arise leaders with strong Constitutional values that will act. If so, I will follow.
Secondly, there (like the first Civil War) will be states that will align themselves with the right side. And of course, the wrong side. Fortunately for me, I live in Texas. I have no doubt that freedom loving Texans would make the right choices if ever CWII were to occur.
