Of course it's Israel's capital. David conquered the city and made it his capital. Solomon built the temple and made His city. Time to recognize the fact is long overdue.

When all hope ends of driving the Jews into the sea, then peace will be possible. Recognizing reality is a step in that direction. The sooner, the better.

Amen!

This point matters not only to evangelical and Jewish supporters of Israel, but to every American sick and tired of Washington, DC politics-as-usual. It tells us in the most direct possible way that BS walks, and Donald Trump delivers.

Time to recognize reality and stop “letting the inmates run the asylum”.

The various political solutions have been total failures. No reason to think that’ll change any time soon

President Trump’s Jerusalem embassy move is part of a much bigger plan

Rather the understatement, wouldn't you say?

What will be announced *from* Jerusalem will make it even more interesting.

Much bigger plan should be including but not limited to:

* help from Mossad to defeat Islamic terror
* greater intelligence sharing - Mossad should insist and help Trump get rid of the 0bama leftovers
* Netanyahu should get as part of this help with Oil and gas from the US
* plan from Trump to be totally free of any and all Middle Eastern sourced oil...not a drop more...defund all Middle Eastern activity less Israel
* share technology with Israel to defeat muzzies

In an odd sense, the biggest influence on these developments in the Middle East has been the mass migration of all these "refugees" to Europe over the last few years.

There's one thing about this story that nobody has mentioned:

There was never a mass migration of Palestinians out of Israel and the various "occupied territories" to Europe over the last 50+ years.

Think about it ...

If Palestinians were in such bad shape there, how hard would it have been for them to migrate to Europe just like all the rest of these people from Iraq, Syria, Libya and other surrounding countries? There's a simple reason why they never did this. Despite the disorder and difficulties they may face at home, they probably know that they're better off than they'd be in most other parts of the world.

I'm one of those who has been suggesting that the U.S. should proceed cautiously in this whole thing, and I'm OK with how everything has unfolded. To me, the most interesting angle to the story this week is the involvement of the Saudi and Egyptian governments. The whole region seems to be sick and tired of what has been the status quo for decades.

Every recent president has promised to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as a candidate,

I doubt if Obama did this.

I look at part of this history as a glance at what independent oil drillers using hydraulic fracturing technology (frackers) have done indirectly for world diplomacy.

The US is now a net exporter of oil.

Jerusalem becomes once again Israel’s capital.

The two facts above are not unrelated in my view.

The British and French embassies are in Tel Aviv according the Bing search results I got.

Moving the embassy will be expensive. I assume Congress would have to appropriate funds to pay for the move.

The embassy and staffers housing will take up real estate in the holy city of Jerusalem that highly religious Jews might wish to live in.

Each country gets to pick its capital. Our official recognition of Israel’s choice adds nothing to the physical fact of the Knesset.

“So the kabuki will unfold in “the Arab street,” but the intransigent Palestinians for the first time are discovering that intransigence makes things worse for them. They will pay a price now. The unspoken message is that if they don’t come to the table with a new attitude, things will get even worse.”

This.

And there is the ripple effect:

African states say they will follow Trump in moving their embassies to Jerusalem

[snip]
During Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip last week to Africa for the swearing-in of Kenya’s president, he met with the presidents of African states Gabon, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan, Botswana and Namibia, and with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

Israel sees rising African economies as potential bountiful new markets, and has reportedly signed a swathe of lucrative arms deals with several countries on the continent.

LOL I love this because I refuse to buy and hate slimey cheese.

“As far as I am concerned, the Middle East “peace process” is to “peace” as “processed cheese” is to “cheese”: a fake, cheap imitation that only faintly resembles the real thing. Both melt easily, but that is a positive factor only for the ersatz fromage.”

I hate to say this, but when the Israelites went into the promised land they were progressive snowflakes even then by not annihilating the people who practiced child sacrifice as they were commanded. They allowed some of those kingdoms to live and made the people servants.

The Israelites were warned not to do the same evil or they would suffer the same consequence. They did. It’s been 40 years since Israel legalized pre-born child sacrifice. There are only 5 nations today where it is still illegal. It is an abomination that causes desolation.
