The predominately millennial jury in the Kate Steinle murder trial was laser-focused on the gun that was shot by the illegal alien from Mexico who caused the California womans death.
While deliberating the high-profile case, the jury which was not sequestered and was stacked with 20 to 30-something-year-olds, as well as three foreign-born residents focused primarily on the weapon, rather than the illegal alien.

The gum worked/ Too bad the jury did not.
I guess the left’s (Holder’s) brainwashing against guns is complete in CA. They believe an inanimate object is at fault rather than the person wielding it. Common sense isn’t so common in certain places any more.
Gun = Bad
Illegal Alien Felon = Good
Send a thank you note to our wonderful American Public School System.
Somebody else here pointed out that he was probably overcharged precisely to invalidate the whole proceedings. But that said, while the jury was obviously the one that is ultimately responsible for not convicting him of much of anything, I wonder what the judge’s instructions to the jury were...they can be extremely influential in the verdict.
Solution San Francisco:
Drain Hetch Hetchy....cut the water off
Close the bridges.
No matter what the facts are, the gun is always the culprit. Here, the Sig jumped into his hand and shot the poor woman by itself.
Being a Sanctuary City their residence and not their citizenship is all that is important.
How many of those "foreign-born resident" jurors were not even citizens?
Like most of California, San Francisco has more registered voters than voting-age citizens. And since many citizens don't bother to register, San Francisco 14% excess (see below) could represents much more the 14% non-citizens.
If they have non-citizens on the voting rolls, you'd be a fool not to think they don't also have them in the jury pools!
What if the illegal stole a car instead and accidentally killed a pedestrian? Wouldnt that be considered involuntary vehicular homicide? He would be here illegally, stole a vehicle, no drivers license and he killed someone with the vehicle. The jurors are utter morons and fools but the scumbag lawyers knew all that manipulations to slant justice.
...Somebody else here pointed out that he was probably overcharged precisely to invalidate the whole proceedings...
Charges like this are typical in many homicides. The jury had a choice of 1st degree (premeditated), 2nd degree, (reckless disregard for human life or similar reckless act), manslaughter (negligence), or acquittal.

#BoycottSanFrancisco and #BoycottCalifornia is all I have to say. : (
Why is no one asking for professional examination of the gun as to how it was modified to have a “hair trigger’. And why would the previous owner have done this? Such an important part of the case is the accidental discharge. I would have wanted a test to see what it would take to accidentally fire the weapon.
“focused primarily on the weapon, rather than the illegal alien.”......
Yes, that “stolen” and “found again” weapon that the ILLEGAL probably stole himself. I shout foul, foul. foul!
I anticipate that “illegal” is a dead man walking if he ever gets free from the feds and sneaks back into the U.S. the next time.
That stolen gun did NOT fire itself, the many time illegal DID.
Another stuck-on-stupid jury.
There seems to be an endless supply of these idiots.
Bad headline. The article does NOT show that the jury was particularly focused on the gun.
I wish I could find an old Bill Mauldin cartoon from 1968, after Bobby Kennedy was murdered by a Palestinian immigrant, in which a mob is lynching a handgun. In back, a criminal is saying..
“They lynched my gun and let me go!”
That cartoon was run again in newspapers when George Wallace was shot.
“About what one would expect from a stacked jury”
And this was a “Jury of Peers” ?
Need another trial with ex cons, wetbacks etc etc on the jury !! /sarc
