Rather than have a House/Senate Compromise bill which would have to be voted on again by the House and Senate, the House should just go ahead and vote for the senate Bill and that would be the end of it. Obviously, that would be too simple.

Tax sales transaction, not income.
That would completely lever the playing field.
Pick a percentage and let them wrangle periodically about that.
Yeah, too late now. I suppose they want a medal for doing their jobs now? They should be up to their necks in violent protesters as far as I am concerned. All this sexual harassment concerns while they simply rape us in another way is mighty disgusting. The worst part to me is that WE the people let them. We allow this, that is the problem.

CNN calls it a victory for Republicans. I smell a huge trap.

Every Republican voted yes, except for Tennessee's Bob Corker.

He needs a blanket party.

Democrats uniformly voted no.

Real RATs DON'T cut taxes.

I haven’t heard anything about a flat or fair tax lately.
Also, npt a peep from what was a “ movement” not so long ago.
One of their catchy phases went something like Taxed Enough Already.
Not to get off topic but another catchy phase from the not to distant past, that many were fond of, “Enforce the existing law!”

478 pages. That makes me concerned. How much pork and special treatment for special interests was snuck in there? I want a simplified tax code, without ANY bs.

I wonder if the bit is still in there extending the length of time you have to live in a home before you can take the capital gains exemption. It’s always been 2, from what I can tell, that’s gone too.

Might not affect too many people, but I know of someone who took a job move, and since they had lived in it for more than 2 years, they’d be able to sell at their leisure. If that bit remained in the tax bill, if his house hasn’t sold by 12/31/17, they pay capital gains on the profit. Following the rules, but the rules change mid game, that’s what this tax bill looks like to me.

I know I’ll end up paying more in taxes, but I still think this is great!

Because they finally actually *did* something...

Can anyone boil this thing down to

1) Old vs. New tax ranges per income level

2) Number of pages of Old Tax Code vs. number of pages of New Tax Code

This is another GOP crap sandwich that is screwing the middle class with higher taxes. To corporations will get more breaks and access to illegal alien cheap labor. Tje leaches will get continued welfare at my expenses.

I might as well vote for a Democrat congress in 2018 and 2020 and Democrat POTUS in 2020. If have to screwed, might as well be by a Democrat.

I read earlier that Flake wouldn’t vote for it if it didn’t have daca amnesty in it. Anyone know if that’s in it?

Ok, question to any FReeper out there. I remember reading in the House version that there was a provision that would prevent illegals from filing their fraudulent tax returns for the EITC. Was this true, and did this pass in the Senate version? Thank you.

This is the biggest tax INCREASE in California state history. This is not a tax cut bill, it’s a TAX REDISTRIBUTION BILL.

And for the LIBERALS here cheering tax redistribution, just wait 4-8 years when the Dems are back in power, they will raise YOUR TAXES to match.

I stayed up and watched the votes on the amendments and the final vote. Pretty late for Atlanta time.
