The corporatist entities are getting something here and some people will end up paying higher taxes.

Big business wants cheap labor in this country plus a welfare state us little folks pay for just like the folks in Canada have to do right now.

I support Trump on his immigration views and expect delivery down the road on keeping cheap labor out of the USA.

I’m willing to accept this “deal” that the “deal maker” in the White House has come up with.

But I am not willing to accept cheap labor importation front door through DACA or other means or back door through H1 visas or any other “work permits” etc. etc. etc.

"...and the finalized legislation includes a (paid for) amendment sought by Maine's Susan Collins that mirrors the House-passed SALT (state and local tax deduction) compromise."

Boo!

Still not a done deal. The House and Senate bills are different and need to be reconciled.

I guess that makes it official.. I will be paying more in taxes according to their tables. I am subsidizing the uber wealthy, as usual and thise people with six kids.
When their six kids have grown, they will just love subsidizing, or will they?
Punished for being truly middle class,,

This picture was from 3 days ago.

He is celebrating the market going nuts in anticipation of the corporates getting their tax break on the backs of middle and upper middle class taxpayers.

The flawed assumption of this entire enterprise is that by giving the corporations a massive tax break from 35% to 20%, they will "reinvest" that money.

Maybe some of it - but I believe most corporations will simply use it to buy back their own stock (as they have historically done).

The Goldman Sachs snake oil agents who wormed their way into the White House did their job.

The casino will pay out big - until it doesn't.

"We will massively cut taxes for the middle class, the forgotten people, the forgotten men and women of this country, who built our country....Tax relief will be concentrated on the working and middle class taxpayer. They will receive the biggest benefit and it won't even be close."**

Donald Trump, Scranton PA, Oct 2016

**Except for you middle class in NY, NJ, CA, IL, CT, WA, MA, and other states....and except for you middle class who deduct medical expenses, and except for large families who rely on the Personal Exemption, and except for you young people who deduct student loan interest, and except for you middle class who deduct mortgage interest, and except for you men who have to pay alimony, and except for you school teachers who deduct paying for school supplies out of your own pocket, and except for graduate students, and except for college students who get tuition benefits from parental employment, and...

The left is crapping its pants. They have ordered the news media to act. Last night they were trying to instill fear that the bill would make financial aid taxable income, complete with shots of the signs for about 10 college financial aid offices.

This will not stop. The usual jerks are going around saying “tax cuts for the rich” and “will cost the middle class money”.

Watch the jump in the stock market Monday morning, for an update on what the business community thinks about the bill.

Well, this is sausage making at it’s best...wurst? After the failure to repeal obama care I think the Republicans passing a tax reform bill is really good news. I have no doubt that it’s about as flawed as humanly possible. However, currently our tax laws are 70,000 pages and I am unable to do my own taxes. I want to see fewer deductions and exemptions with just a lower tax rate. Allowing corporations to repatriot money is great idea and I have no doubt that this bill will promote this. It is my hope that this bill will promote jobs and growth in the US. If I personally end up paying a bit more in taxes due to lost deductions and exemptions that is acceptable...if I am able to make up for it by investment growth and seeing the US economy benefit.

So manchin and that other so called moderate dem once again fell in to a straight dem party line vote. Time to put some serious resources into taking those Trump state senate seats. No more of this moderate bullshit. They’re schumer puppets and we need to use this vote against them.

Another pathetic piece of legislation that purports to reform and reduce taxes, but is nothing more than deductible reform for individual taxpayers. If you think it’s a good thing to reduce/eliminate adoption credits, SALT deductions, mortgage interest, long-term care for elderly, and other fiddly farting around with deductions then this bill is for you.

Nobody in 2016 ran on this crap. They ran on tax cuts. What the GOPe delivered is pathetic.

I'm seeing so many Chicken Littles and NIMBY people on FR lately when there used to be so many complaining of the debt and how bad it is for the economy, and how we're going to pay for it, and how it is going to be so hard on everyone when we finally do.

Personally, I'd like to see less spending from the feds, but I guess some tax increases are needed (for now).

Jt Tax Cmte forecasts tax bill will increase GDP “by about 0.8 percent on average over the 10-year budget window. That increase in income would increase revenues, relative to the conventional estimate of a loss of $1,414 billion..by $458 billion over that period.”— Chad Pergram (@ChadPergram)

Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Or, put another way the projected loss of $1.414 billion.......would be about the same dollar amount as ONE dark of the night air transport of unmarked bills to lran

I'm not ready to grab my pitchfork yet, since the bill has not even reached the Presiden't desk yet.

But if congress and the President screw us on this- and if President Trump reneges on his promise to ease tax burdens on everyday working people, then they are going to wish that tar and feathers was the worst that could happen.
