Kathie Lee Gifford wants to forgive Matt Lauer.
The “Today” star, alongside co-host Hoda Kotb, addressed Lauer’s prompt firing after an employee raised allegations of sexual harassment against him.
“I’m grappling with, should I even share something? But I guess I really should,” Gifford, 64, said during the 10 a.m. hour of “Kathie Lee & Hoda.” “I don’t feel that Matt has betrayed us in any way at all but when I found out that my husband [Frank Gifford] had betrayed me, you question your own judgment. You say, ‘Was everything a lie?’ And I think we have to very much fight against that, that the man we know and adored was the man we loved and adored and continue to.”
Gifford said she reached out to Lauer, 59, Wednesday morning and told him, “I adore you.” She described the day as a “very, very sad one” at NBC.
She continued, “No person is perfect in this world. … And what we need now is forgiveness and mercy for one another.”

I’d say that Kathy Lee should leave any FORGIVING to Lauer’s victims, not herself.
Yep - they stirred this up with the "#MeToo" social media campaign, intending to bring all that anger down on Moore. Instead, the lightning hit Franken - and has since been jumping from one leftist "icon" to the next.

Well, it depends how much money the employee pulls in for the network -- and also, is the serious allegation something that is generally believed. The articles state that it was common knowledge that he'd had consensual relationships over the years, but that this alleged one was non-consensual. It's a good bet that if the consensual ones are common knowledge, there won't be much doubt that he crossed that line, and that it would be common knowledge as well, even if NBC tried to keep on the lid.
Of course the difference is Frank had an affair. Matt at least so the rumor goes forced himself on someone

You would think she would have learned her lesson with her husband Frank Gifford who cheated on her.
Kathy Le Gifford should be horsewhiped for presuming to be entitled to "forgive and grant mercy" on behalf of everyone else. That makes her an enabler. Perverts demand and expect it but that does not change their behavior. Forget "I am so sorry," no matter how many phony tears are involved, or the the totally useless "I will try to regain the trust and respect of the voters."
Perverts respond only to severe consequences," real and permanent punishment that leave a mark and prevent, absolutely, repeat behavior.
At a minimum, loss of employment and forfeiture of benefits (To go to victim awards fund or to reimburse any damages previously paid with taxpayer money,) and a permanent ban from public employment and welfare benefits if elected or politically appointed.
Maybe Kathy Lee Gifford can support them

Of course the caveat is to be 'forgiven' you must be a member of the political elite - AND a democrat.
