REPORT: Mitch McConnell Camp Planted Roy Moore Story To Clear Path For Trump Impeachment Attempt
DC Whispers ^

Posted on 11/19/2017 6:59:00 AM PST by drewh

What a disgusting cesspool of self-serving corruption is the nation’s capital and no better example of that can be found today than Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell who, according to longtime political activist, Ned Ryun, was a primary source of the anti-Roy Moore stories that are now attempting to sway the upcoming Alabama special election and help clear the path for a Trump impeachment attempt in 2018.

“…I strongly suspect it’s a very short list of people, all who are associated with Mitch McConnell – whether it’s Josh Holmes, whether it’s Karl Rove, might even be Steven Law – I don’t know, but I strongly, strongly suspect somebody out of the McConnell camp planted the story. It was planted. This came with the blessing of Mitch McConnell at some point, that he was going to take a political shot at Roy Moore.”

According to whispers, it wasn’t just taking “political shot” at Moore that motivating the McConnell camp. They want Roy Moore out of the way and replaced with someone of McConnell’s choosing, or even Moore’s Democrat opponent, Doug Jones, a man whose career is linked to the Bill Clinton administration. Moore would be a vehement defender of POTUS Trump and his policies. If McConnell is to succeed in laying the groundwork for an impeachment trial and vote in the Senate, he will need fewer senators like Roy Moore to contend with.

McConnell is said to know actual impeachment proceedings remain a distant possibility, (the Paul Ryan-led House would first have to vote to impeach) but he is more determined than ever to be ready should that opportunity present itself. For those who might scoff at the notion of a Republican Congress actually pursuing articles of impeachment against Donald Trump, simply recall the failed votes to repeal and replace Obamacare, the ongoing troubles to pass tax cuts, and the number of Republican senators who continue to openly speak out against the President.

The motivation to go after Trump is there. What is left is a simple matter of numbers. Getting rid of a Roy Moore and replacing him with a an anti-Trump senator would give McConnell that much more leverage to make his dreams of eliminating Trump a reality.

>I’m no fan of Mitch McConnell but I’m not buying this conspiracy theory for a second.

Which part of the conspiracy theory, that McConnell conspired to plant the story or that McConnell conspired to lay the foundation for impeachment conviction in the Senate?

For the former, I remind you that McConnell had his cadre ready to denounce Moore within one hour of the Washington Post publishing the story. I can't recall seeing McConnell ever move that fast on anything else.

For the latter, I too have my doubts. I would say, however, that McConnell has been embroiled in a tug-of-war with Trump with each side winning small victories: McConnell is not helping Trump with his agenda (repealing Obamacare, funding the wall, DACA, tax reform, Senate investigations), but Trump is winning on judges, elections, and popularity).

It's not a stretch to say that, at some point, McConnell will up the ante, and perhaps go all in on a final putsch.

The basic premise here is B.S. There are so many holes in it, it’s embarrassing that anyone would publish such a ridiculous narrative.

[I told someone this very thing a couple of weeks ago, and they kindly informed me that I was nuts.]

Apparently they haven’t read PSALM 2.

So a completely unsourced conspiracy theory from a random troll is now a “report”.

Agreed, a lot of people have said McConnell from the start but I wonder, why didn't whomever did this, do it during the Republican primary when Moore's competition was Mo Brooks and Luther Strange or the runoff with just Strange as an opponent.

What exactly have McConnel, Ryan, McCain, Graham, Collins or King done to avidly support Trump? Each has done far more destructively to the Republican Party (and Trump than constructively. Each have aligned themselves far more often with democrats than republicans.

" He’s not smart enough to lead a conspiracy. Additionally, his inability to pass anything will lead to his loss of the majority in 2018, not an impeachment trial."

I actually think Mcconnel wants the democrat to win the seat just to get the senate one seat closer to a dem majority thus halting Trumps agenda until the next election where Mcconnel would do everything possible to make sure President Trump loses.

I buy it because of Mississippi. Senate Leadership Committee had to hide their faces coming out of the meeting where they approved $ to smear McDaniel, it was election theft, pure and simple.

And, they’d tried it in the 1st primary with a fake story that McDaniel snuck into Cochran’s wife’s room at nursing home and filmed her in a catatonic state.

GOP establishment has been running country with Dems, pray they go down.

The Birmingham News has been on a rampage against Judge Roy Moore for many years, especially since their alleged lesbian editor took over as the main editor for the 3 largest newspapers in the state of Alabama and Judge Moore came out against sodomite marriage.

I've met her and she is VERY butch.

Kyle Whitmire is an effete "columnist" there (though he's married) and he's written with more vitriol against Judge Moore than anyone, with the possible exception of John "I forgot I declared bankruptcy and I've got a gay brother" Archibald.

They hate Judge Moore and they have made it clear that they do.

Their jobs are also dependent on pleasing their editor. Those 3 papers are owned by Advance and they have laid off over 40% of their employees in the past few years and now only print 3 days a week.

So you have lesbians and leftists calling the shots and maybe a couple of people who are afraid to speak out in fear of losing their jobs.

But this is a hate campaign of the highest order.

A year ago, a good friend told me that “Trump will be removed. If not by legal means by other means”.

The Deep State does not want Trump.

If this ploy fails, it may end up being more extreme means.

He’s not smart enough to lead a conspiracy. Additionally, his inability to pass anything will lead to his loss of the majority in 2018, not an impeachment trial.

..................

Actually, his loss will accelerate and empower the dims to impeach...in the meantime, he is giving Mueller time to collect the data so it can be served up on a plate

Conservatives must beware of the *techniques* of perfidy done by liberal Republicans. Let me cite a clear example of the danger.

For years, the Texas House of Representatives had a rotten deal going on. While Republicans outnumbered Democrats, a liberal RINO remained the speaker of the house. Surrounded by a small group of liberal Republicans from the big cities, every year he would be elected speaker by just this small number of liberal Republicans, as well as *all* the Democrats.

Then he used his position to stop all the changes that conservatives wanted. Gun liberty, abortion restrictions, budgetary controls, etc., etc. Down the line he did everything the Democrats wanted.

I mention this technique because it is *how* Ryan and McConnell will try to impeach and convict President Trump.

First, in the House, Ryan only needs a simple majority to impeach. Currently there are 240 Republicans and 194 Democrats, plus one vacant seat. So it is very unlikely that enough Republicans would vote to impeach. Unless, in the next election, the GOP “throws the election”, to replace so many Republicans with Democrats that a small number of liberal establishment Republicans can join with the Democrats to impeach.

The Senate, however, needs 2/3rds of the Senators to vote to convict. 67. Not easy to get. So it is far more likely that McConnell will be satisfied with just impeachment, then using it to strip President Trump of much of his power.

In this way, protecting the establishment status quo.

NO, the GOPe will be the “net losers!” In this particular battle, the RATs don’t really matter.
