Did they even once ask this to a general under Barack Obama?
And what other orders would this commander “resist?”
He needs to be relived of his command.
I’ve noticed sites using Disquis for comment management have consistently failed to load said comments in a timely manner; if at all, since the advent of President Trump. Is it just me or is this widespread?
>>Fire bin NOW!

Seems like a no-brainer, but then again, the Obama Schedule C Federal employees should have been gone 10 months ago too.....
Well, he is not scaring our enemies with that talk - there goes deterrence.
Maybe time for a scarier guy in there.
Bio shows him in software & Space command. https://www.defense.gov/About/Biographies/Biography-View/Article/999157/general-john-e-hyten/
Apparently another bureaucrat placed by deep state to thwart Our President
Fire him.
It is not up to him to decide what is legal or illegal.
Get rid of him.
What is an “illegal” nuke order? That wasn’t made clear in the article and maybe none of that should be discussed in public anyway.
Why was this top commander talking to the press about this stuff? He must have had permission to do this. From whom? Trump?
Pull from the Obama playbook, fire him after a litmus test.
It’s a set up. If he is fired, dems, commies and MSM say, look, Trump is planning something illegal.
I would imagine that the conditions necessary to cause a launch order would be debated and decided on long before the need arrives. That’s why we have war college. I would hope the decision to launch a nuke would not be an emotional one, and would therefore stand up to examination and rigorous debate. By the time that order is given, it would be the most scrutinized order in military history. So, this general is correct, if the order is illegal he has the duty to refuse it. No order of this magnitude would be issued illegally, so he would probably follow it. I do agree with Denzel however, that the true enemy is war.
Thats fecking treason wing wiper.
At most, he should have said, “We have a process for ensuring that the launch of a nuclear attack is in accordance with US Law.”
What he said is stupid and aids the enemies, both foreign & domestic.
He needs to be removed from command by his immediate superior.
I read the entire CBS article and it is clearly constructed to be inflammatory and elicit emotional knee-jerk reactions to further divide Trump and his administration as well as gin-up leftist “Resist” support. I don’t find Geneal Hyten’s remarks to out of line; they strike me as temperate, measured and reasoned.
The idiot liars at CBS are insinuating Trump would issue illegal orders and just launch a strike for no reason. What a load of horse pucky.
Military officers are required by law to refuse to carry out illegal orders but there is no definition of what is or is not legal in regards to the release of nuclear weapons.
If we have incoming the President will confer with his military advisors as time permits then will issue his orders and will use the “football” to authenticate and transmit those orders. Its a short chain from there to to Launch Control Centers out in the missile fields and the folks in that chain have no knowledge of how the order came about, they just do their duty.
If the President wants to release a weapon first there will be enough talk and gnashing of teeth before the release order is given. The President is not going to do this in a vacuum.
I wonder if he would have launched if false President O’Muzzie had ordered a strike on Israel.
“We’re not stupid people.”
Well, he for sure is. He is over.
Gone....
I know there are former missile commanders here who will confirm that they and their deputy carry sidearms while on duty in the remote case that he/she refuses to obey authenticated orders.
General: I recommend against firing a Nuc at this time Mr President.
POTUS: I have taken your concerns under advisement. Launch the Nuc.
General: Yes Sir.
