The GOVERNMENTS in Africa asked him to do this. Not because he wants dead elephants.

The data does not say otherwise you freaks.

Hunters dollars have saved African wildlife.

Leave the damned elephants alone, and offer up some financial aide to replace the money that would have been raised by collecting trophies.

In conjunction, offer up rewards for “poacher pelts”.

If an animal is no longer fertile it is competing for resources that other fertile animals could use. If you want to save the species you need to cull the herd.

I'm sure that just like the previous thread on this subject, the thread will be full of people crying for the poor elephants who know nothing whatsoever about game management.

The more detailed population trend data from the census showed that populations had been on a rebound from 1995 to about 2007. But since then, elephant populations have been declining by a rate of about 8 percent annually, or 30,000 elephants each year.

And there was trophy hunting during those years from 1995 to 2001. If the stats imply anything, it's that the Obama policy backfired, and led to a decline in elephants. More likely hunting had nothing to do with it one way or another. But the implication that Trump's policy is wrong because populations declined during the Obama years makes no sense at all.

As long as there is some demand for elephant parts or they are considered a nuisance, they will be killed until they are gone. The real answer is to cull the human herd back to say, 1860 levels.

Maybe the Madagascar plague will do the trick.

The overall herd count is misleading. The truth is found in comparing countries with regulated hunting with countries where no hunting is allowed. The herds are thriving with regulated hunting.

The parks the protect the Elephants would not exist without hunting money.

“The Trump administration says we have to kill elephants to help save them. The data says otherwise.”

As if the lying WashPoo were suddenly interested in data and facts!
To save the elephant, just let people EAT it. There will never be any risk of extinction of hogs, chickens, cows, turkeys... that’s what data say.

I didn’t know we had elephants in the U.S under Trump’s control. I thought they were in Zimbabwe or somewhere and they set the policies about hunting them.

Seriously though, if it’s legal to hunt them, the hunter should be allowed to have a trophy.
