I like Melanie Morgan, having listened to her radio shows for years, but I’m puzzled as to why such a strong woman as she wouldn’t respond to franken’s stalking by giving him a well-deserved knee to the squazzones. In fact, why don’t all the women who are abused similarly do the same, and let the recipient explain the bowleggedness that results?
No, I did not wait....I settled it on the spot.
When a VP made a salacious remark at a corporate meeting about he and I going to a backroom to get documents.....I turned to the group and said: “I wonder what makes him think he’s got what it takes.”
He NEVER made a remark about me, again.
So where is McConnell on this one?

Because back then, boorish behavior was not considered criminal. Even now, it is only criminal if a conservative does it. Franken has probably always had a reputation as a horny jerk. But now that conservatives are being accused of "sexual assault" over minor things that probably never even happened, we've reached a point where jerks like Franken need to be publically humiliated for things that we know happened (at least we know it happened in the case of the USO tour where there's photographic evidence).
Just heard Tweeden on the radio news talking about Franken. She said his lips were all slimey and he was gross. Something like that.
I howled with laughter because I imagine it was gross.
I understand but I would not feel so secure in the current climate. If a random woman from your past suddenly came out and claimed you groped her 20 years ago, how would you defend against that? The more you proclaim your virtue, the more guilty you will appear to be.
This is what we are up against, unfortunately.
What they’ll do now is break out any dirt they have on Bannon and as we’ve seen it doesn’t even have to be real dirt, just something that can be used to “other” Bannon and make him seem repugnant so that the easily manipulated will reject his influence. The same can be done to the opposition though, McConnell is uniquely vulnerable since he’s got a very creepy mein on and about his person anyway, a sort of quivery, creepy, crooked undertaker vibe, you just know you’d worry about the body of any loved one that ended up being handled by him. Can you imagine what Elaine Chao goes through in private with that pallid reptilian septuagenarian? I know I don’t want to even think about it.
Being stalked is scary.
Unless they now remember that they were not willing ...
I had a manager once who, while we were alone in a back room of the warehouse, made a totally creepy, inappropriate comment to me. I wrote it off to him trying to act cute but it was just stupid. I told him so, walked out and didn’t tell anyone but a friend that worked with me.
Good for you. I applaud your immediate and direct response.
That is the way to handle and resolve these types of issues. Not by waiting years and years.
Nothing ever happened to my uncle.
He’s still a beloved, wonderful member of the family.
When I told my mom, when I was 11, she refused to believe it.
Even accused me of “provoking him into it”.
Four years later, he started on my little cousin when she turned 10 [his favorite age] and what did my mom and her mom do?
Had a family confab in which it was decided nothing was ever to be said or done, lest it “ruin my aunt’s life”, as if living with a pedophile is a better fate.
If I spoke up *now*, guess what would happen.
My entire family would rise up against me and call me a liar, even the other cousins he got hold of.
They would crush me.
I would be living in constant fear that he would finally carry out the many threats he made against me, back then.
My trainwreck of a life would get *even worse*.
In 1972, *it was decided*, for good and all, that the kids would be sacrificed for the sake of the aunt and pedo uncle.
So, unless another of my cousins [or his other non-family victims] speaks up, this is where it’s at...and likely always will be.
Until someone with nothing to lose, like a non-family victim speaks up, we all maintain this guilty silence.
It is one incredibly wretched place to be.
I would reckon that is akin to what’s happening with these women.

yes. Yes they are. It’s a bandwagon.
It seems twisted, and in a way it is and there is room to criticize someone without the will and fortitude to endure the proper legal grievance process and then years later find it easier to feel empowered by a wave of social change where perpetrators are not being protected as much and victims are not being shamed as much.
