A teacher in Oxfordshire, Great Britain has been suspended after he “accidentally” called a transgender student a “girl” in class when they identify as a boy, according to The Daily Mail.
The Mail last Saturday reported that Joshua Sutcliffe, 27, teaches maths at a state secondary school in Oxfordshire.
Sutcliffe told the teenager and a friend “Well done girls” when he encountered them working hard in class.
The teacher apologized after the student corrected him, but six weeks later he was suspended from teaching after the teen’s mother filed a complaint.
Sutcliffe has since been summoned to a formal disciplinary hearing this week following an investigation into the incident.
The educator will next face misconduct charges for “misgendering” and could face firing over the encounter.
“[I’m] distraught,” Sutcliffe said. “[It’s] political correctness gone mad. I was absolutely shocked to be told by the head that I was under investigation.”
“It was surreal, Kafkaesque,” he continued. “I said it was only one incident for which I had apologized, but he insisted the investigation would go ahead.”
“I had always tried to respect the pupil and keep a professional attitude as well as my integrity, but it seemed to me that the school was trying to force me to adhere to its liberal, leftish agenda.”
Sutcliffe’s formal disciplinary hearing is scheduled for this Wednesday, and it will be attended by the head of his school and three of its governors.
The Mail last Sunday saw documents which state that Sutcliffe also faces claims that he breached equality policies by calling the student by name rather than “he” or “him.”
Sutcliffe said he did not receive specific instructions bout how to address the student, and that he had followed other staff by using their chosen first name.
The Christian admitted, however, that he avoided using male pronouns such as “he” and “him” for the student due to his faith.
The assistant head leading the probe recommended that both were issues of misconduct that should be handled under the school’s disciplinary policy.
“[The student’s ‘misgendering’ and] avoidance of using gendered pronouns contravenes the school’s code of conduct with regard to demonstrating an awareness of sexual and cultural diversity of students and use of insensitive comments towards young people,’” the investigation concluded.
“The use of religious comments in maths lessons demonstrates a failure to comply with school policies,” the probe added of Sutcliffe.
In my mind, I am going back in time and seeing one of my history classes in high school. I imagine a boy telling the teacher that he preferred being called a girl.
Hilarity ensues.

I am an optimist by nature; and I have a lot of faith in the basic good of human nature.
But when a member of Congress, like Peter King (JD!) decides to disregard a most essential and sacred element of our system of justice - (presumption of innocence) -
I begin to be worried.

This is indeed madness. Expunging all rational thought. No wonder the children and teens have to be medicated. The ones who cannot cope with this denial of reality (and some who love it) are forced to revert into full zombie with drugs -fully sanctioned by the medical and educational community and ‘experts’.
Some Freeper made a comment once that anytime you see the word ‘transgender’, just substitute that word for ‘fake’ - thus, ‘transgender boy’ is a ‘fake boy; ‘transgender girl’ is a ‘fake girl’, and so on.
Can you imagine what would have happened already, if so many didn’t still believe in, expect, and demand, the Rule of Law?

But: If they could do so, they would round us up and haul us off and many would look the other way. There is no doubt in my mind about that.

No, it seems to me that people like Peter King are actually ‘on the run’. They seem to be trying to save their political butts - individually and Party-generally.
I may be disgusted with the political parties, and depressed that we have so few True Americans in Congress. But I still have great faith in the American People, who have spoken loudly over the past year; and will triumph despite some perhaps difficult times.

Agreed. But the original post was about England, not the US. And our snowflakes don’t have the organization of mind/thought to do much but whine and throw tantrums.
There may be difficult times ahead; but I still believe profoundly in our Constitution, and its uniqueness in history as the most progressive (in the true sense of the word) system of government ever devised.
And I believe in the majority of Americans who still support it and will demand that their elected officials remain true to it.
Should refer to them as “beeach” or “azzhole”, as that could to apply to either gender.
